Beef was tender, shrimp was okay but the udon and broth is very forgettable... Would rather pop by Idaten Udon a few minutes away for decent udon UwU
A generous portion of noodle bowl with lots of beef on it. The soup itself was served hot and the taste not so overwhelming.
The food was very flavourful and the ambience is very relaxed/casual!
I think that it is worth it for its price point as everything (at least the cooked food that I ordered) is generally executed quite well.
Good for family/friends gatherings/casual date nights!
This bowl of Chirashi don was originally priced at $42 before taxes. Was pictured to come with heaps of Uni, but came with none. Bluefin tuna (probably chutoro), along with the other sashimi were obviously not fresh, with the tuna possessing a grey hue that's frankly unappetising. Prawns were not sweet at all, while the tamago was way too sweet. Just from the looks of the cuts, you can tell that there wasn't much effort that went into this.
The lunch sets at Tomo Izakaya are actually quite affordable considering the quality and amount of food served. What I had today was the Beef Steak Don which comes with two different salads (one with wasabi shoyu and the other sesame sauce) and miso soup. What was interesting was that the don consists of scrambled eggs as well. Beef was marinated well but it was dry and the waiter didn't ask for the doneness of the meat, which I presume the chef will cook the same doneness for all orders. Wished that the beef could be medium instead of well done though.
A very generous assortment of fresh sashimi at a reasonable price - definitely a must have!
