Glad to say that this bun did not let me down because it is STUFFED with flowy salted egg filling. And for the first time after like 3 failed salted egg buns, I did not mess up while reheating this and managed to get that flowy texture without overcooking the salted egg, please give me a round of applause πŸ‘πŸ‘

The generous salted egg fillings nicely coated the whole bread such that there were no sad plain parts. The bread itself is kinda crispy on the top and soft and chewy. The bun is nicely sized too, such that it's able to satisfy those salted egg cravings without being too jelak.

Definitely recommend this!! Take note that not all Toast Box outlets have a bakery section though, the one I got was from Shaw House but do check which outlets have a bakery before heading down!

Finally, the last egg tart from Toast Box that I got. I think I liked this one the best, despite me being more excited for the mochi and salted egg ones.

The coconut filling in this was sweet and went really well with the egg custard. Somehow this was the only tart that I didn't find jelak, maybe it's cuz I already had 3 egg tarts prior and built some kind of jelak resistance :p

Other than that, not much different from the other 2. But if I were to get a toast box egg tart again, I'd probably get this one.

Like the mochi tart, this has pretty much the same crumbly crust and custardy egg filling. Maybe it's just me but I found the custard a bit jelak, despite this being such a small tart. I don't think I could eat two at once without feeling a little sick but in moderation, it's alright.

The salted egg filling of this tart was more to the creamy side rather than grainy. The salted egg was more of sweet and doesn't have a super strong salted egg taste, but it goes well with the custard and the crust.

Pretty good for $2 but it's not really super wow or anything :p

Was looking forward to trying this because I've never had mochi in an egg tart before πŸ˜— unfortunately, I feel like the mochi in this tart didn't work so well.

The mochi was really sticky and stretchy, which some people may enjoy. The big issue I had with the mochi was that it didn't have much of a flavour to it, it just tasted... Sticky, I guess? And very very faintly sweet. Other than that, I found it a tad bit bland. Maybe my expectations for mochi has been elevated ever since I tried the BreadTalk earl Grey mochi swiss roll but yeah the mochi in this tart could afford to be sweeter.

The tart itself was good, with a delicious buttery, crumbly crust and the consistency of the egg filling was very custard-y and slightly creamy. It's also pretty reasonably sized too.
