TBB signature crisp buttery pastry shaped like a disc with generous pockets of butter, glazed with caramelised sugar and a hint of salt. This is like a croissant but upgraded to a denser, breadier, lesser layer with more butter and sugar. Good to share as this is quite huge and sugar overloaded 》$5.30

The Kouign Amann (pronounced as Queen Amann) is one of Tiong Bahru Bakery's signature pastries so we definitely had to give it a go when visited this branch.

The Kouign Amann is made from bread and butter and it is covered with a layer of caramelized sugar. The pastry was pretty sweet on the outside and really buttery on the inside and to be honest, we would count it as a dessert pastry that would probably be unsuitable for breakfast. We also feel that the Kouign Amann can get pretty cloying after a while due to the sweetness of it's exterior so it would be best to pair this with a drink such as a coffee from the bakery!

At $5++, it is worth a try for lovers of sweet pastries!

We just found out that there was a Tiong Bahru Bakery (TBB) outlet hidden at the top level of Funan and we decided to give it a try! The cafe was bright and the interior was well-lit and unlike some of their other outlets, this one is pretty spacious, which makes for a more comfortable dining experience.

We got the green tea almond croissant today as it is one of our favourite items at TBB and the cafe is famous for their croissants anyway. However, we were quite disappointed because this croissant is not as crispy/flaky as the same croissant ordered at other TBB outlets (e.g., TANGS and Raffles City) and it was also not as buttery as well. The only saving grace was that the taste of green tea was quite evident in the pastry's exterior. We are probably not going to get the croissants at this outlet again... 😰😰😰

Another thing to note is that this outlet only has pastries on weekdays and it only serves cooked food (e.g., it's brunch and dinner menus) only on weekends. Hence, if you are planning to come for those, you should try other nearby branches like the one at Raffles City.

I like the cafe atmosphere at Tiong Bahru Bakery (Funan Mall) The warm orange lights, comfy sofa and freshly-baked goods make this place so inviting. https://hungryghost.sg/tiong-bahru-bakery-funan-mall/

A hearty Sunday brunch brought to you by @tiongbahrubakery! This outlet is the perfect outlet to have your bf waiting for you while u do your treatment in strip or browhaus.
Their space is gorgeous and food is really lovely! I love their soughdough pancake and crispy bacon, the only downside is that the maple syrup is way too sweet for my liking.
But the other big breakfast dish is way too delightful especially for the weekend 😍⚠️ Huge Portion! ⚠️
Head over to @tiongbahrubakery this Sunday for your brunch 🥰
