Now known at SPRUCE @ Katong, you’d be able to get your SPRUCE favourites as well as specials (only available at this outlet) at their newest store located in Katong Square!
One of my favourites would be their prawn pasta! Orecchiette pasta cooked a garlic, zucchini & spinach cream sauce, topped with sautéed prawns.
For someone who doesn’t really like vegetables, I must say, this dish definitely does its job in making me consume my veggies in another form. The sauce tastes almost like the chicken flavoured twistes, although it’s made purely out of vegetables.
The space is located on the first floor, right next to Starkers & has a NYC theme going on, so you’d definitely not miss it!
[New Restaurant] Can't be at Times Square New York for the countdown today, the furthest I could travel to get closest to it is probably this Times Square Restaurant at Katong Square.
🔸
This is a pretty dessert consisting of fresh strawberries in strawberry sauce and strawberry ice cream.
🔸
It's very thick, good for those who like their desserts cheesy and sweet. I enjoyed the cheese cubes within but the price is very steep at $18. A deconstructed chendol would be more of my kind of desserts, if they could do it!
[New Restaurant: Times Square, geotag not up yet] That's a whole Boston lobster with both claws already deshelled sitting on top of the rich pasta.
🔸
The smooth, chilled, creamy capellini was mixed with truffle butter. The crustacean taste of lobster is missing from its sauce, but the truffle butter was evident and that made it really rich and tasty. The lobster was similar to what I get from Fassler or Song Fish - not "live swimming freshness" but good enough for casual family dining and dates.
Seafood otah pizza ($18), Homemade pizza dough really has a difference with its delightful chew. This pizza is one for those into strong flavours, with the spicy fragrance from the otah, oomph of the flavour-packed sambal, a zing from the onions and savouriness of all the cheese. Enjoyed it thoroughly. Good spot away from the crowds
The plate-load of seafood (mussels, scallops, prawns) added a saccharine tinge to the dish as well as springy texture, paired beautifully with the grainy pilaf rice. This was a dish we could not get enough of.

Fragrant, crisp slices of buttered toast, coated in a layer of crisp cornflakes.
Glazed with rich butterscotch and garnished with warm bananas, with a side of cherry compote. Notes of sweet and crunchy. I like!
