For reasons unbeknownst I liked this a lot, and some people might not understand. I usual lot go around trying Tom yum fried rice, and some pale in comparison to the ideal standard I always have in mind. This though, hit the right spots of flavour I desired β€” more sour, yet an adequate level of spiciness as well. For $7.90, ingredients were pretty generous, with squid, frozen prawns and crabmeat. Would come back for my Tom yum fried rice fix if I ever have one again.

When I ordered this, I thought it would be fried garlic chicken dices. However, it came in boneless parts, together with a sweet sauce that I believe with some garlic to get the Essence, and then drizzled with garlic bits. Honestly, I thought that it was not too bad since it was completely not what I expected, but I realised the flavour was more sweet, probably from the dark sauce, rather than garlic-y. The texture of the chicken was off-putting as well.. it felt very rubbery for some reason. I’d rather a savoury garlic dish than a sweet one any day.

This huge bowl of soup had a generous amount of ingredients, including fresh prawns which was a shocker cus my fried rice had frozen prawns instead. There were squid, fish slices and mushrooms inside as well. Not as spicy as I would like it to be, and more on the sour side. But nonetheless this hot soup was comforting on a rainy night.

I personally find it difficult to find Thai tea thats perfect for me...Ordered less sweet and this was just right for me! I believe they used cha trau mue leaves to brew the tea because they displayed the containers on the counter, and it felt as authentic as one could get in thailand. Though I ordered less sweet, there was definitely still an adequate amount of sweetness, but it was acceptable considering how it’s Thai milk tea. I realised many people were ordering it too, perhaps because it’s one of their more popular drinks there? I felt that $3.50 for this was not too affordable, but still more to the decent side.
