Last two weekend chance for you to enjoy this sweet treats at @theflourist.sg on 16th/17th Feb & 23rd/24th Feb.
.
So drop by soon before they move into another backyard at the north east area and supply to the office building staff only!!

Sweet is how we should celebrate Friday with ! The waffle is the soft kind and the sauce is free. Choose from four flavors, what's on my waffles? Rum and raisin and jasmine and lemongrass #burpplesg #sgcafe #burpple #tgif

With a wide range of tea-rrific gelato flavours available - and that includes Matcha, Houjicha and even Genmaicha 🍵💚, we opted for the Matcha and Jasmine&Lemongrass to go along with the charcoal MOCHI waffles. The end result was one that tasted similar a jasmine green tea when paired together, with a characteristic lingering floral fragrance amidst the subtle earthy hues. Perhaps one of the first in Singapore to launched MOCHI-filled waffles, the charcoal mochi waffles was remarkably impressive and surprisingly surpassed expectations! 💖 Indeed an underrated ice cream parlour that fared well in both their waffles & ice cream standards 👍🏻. The waffle comes with an ideal crisp exterior and an interior that comprises of a thin layer of mochi, slightly denser than the typical ones but still retaining a pleasant chewy, fluffy mouthfeel. The batter was also fragrant and you can opt for your choice of sauce to go along with the waffles, which we chose earl grey caramel! ✨ Unfortunately the sauce was overwhelmed by the stronger counterparts of 🍨🍨, but this wasn’t really an issue, given that the smooth, creamy scoops of delight were an enjoyable companion to it! 🌟 .

[PS: Note that the Matcha flavour here isn’t for the hardcore matchaholics, leaning to the sweeter and more milky flavour profile, though the flavour was still distinct! The Genmaicha and Houjicha would perhaps be a better option for the tea lovers but I’ve gotten Matcha for the sake of visuals 🤭] .

Back at The Flourist again after sometime! And it’s relieving to know that their Charcoal Mochi Waffles remains as great as ever! Its chewy texture really does for a good amount of bite, and results in an extra level of satisfaction, especially when coupled with the creamy gelato. 😛
.
Speaking of which, you know how some gelati are smooth and captivatingly chunky? Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe that’s the mark of a gelato well done…it could be just my preference though. 😬😂 But such a texture beautifully highlights each flavour, in a subdued, sophisticated kind of a way.

Second visits are uncommon, but The Flourist have truly earned it! (7.6/10)

Mochi waffles aren’t available in many local dessert parlours. I’ve only heard of a handful of places that serve them up, and The Flourist (located minutes away from Temasek Poly) joins that list with their Charcoal Mochi Waffles.

The bread isn’t as elastic as other renditions I’ve tried, and when I tried it, I feel that it was confused between being chewy and being just slightly soggy. It is sweeter in flavour than I’d expected too, but thankfully not to the point where it teeters between sweet and saccharine.

Above all though, the Miso Butterscotch gelato emerged as the highlight - the salty, umami nature of the Japanese seasoning plus the caramelised flavours of the hearty butterscotch is almost guaranteed to leave your throat feeling a little chafed. But that doesn’t make the combination any less of a knockout. In addition to that, both my parents loved this more than the flavours they picked hahaha. (7.4/10)

The Flourist’s Charcoal Mochi waffle with Horlicks ice cream and Sea Salt Hokkaido Milk ice cream. The crispy waffles were pretty special — it had a thin layer of chewy mochi encased within.
