The Daily Scoop (Bedok Reservoir)

Premium flavour (+$1). Very tart and refreshing, but couldn't taste the gin.

Also had the Iced White ($4.50) which was decent.

It was probably to satisfy my need for aesthetics more than anything, but I was craving a scoop of ice cream on a pretty sprinkle cone. I had this exact combination from the Daily Scoop at sunset way 4 years ago, where I first tried the avocado flavour. I love how the taste is of an unadulterated creamy avocado flavour, and truth be told, it is not sweet at all. It’s mild, healthy tasting, and purely avocado — no gula melaka or the common shenanigans. The sprinkle cone is just colourful pretty, and it adds a scanty sweetness to the ice cream especially as it has an added layer of chocolate. I however, did think that the cone was a bit too thick to my liking.

Get the raspberry honeycomb scoop if you’re craving something sourish-fruity yet want a slight sweet crunch in your ice cream. The flavours in this combination complemented one another well, I’d personally get it again. This is a premium flavour so you got to top up $1 for it!

Warm apple crumble set topped with a simple vanilla ice cream. Sweetness was not anything too overwhelming. Apple chunks were bigger than I liked and slightly hard, and it was stewed in brown sugar and cinnamon combination, with the cinnamon flavour being quite strong. The crumble pieces were also of bigger pieces. A decent option for your apple crumble + ice cream fix!

Cinnamon sugar waffle with a scoop of butterscotch pecan ice cream. Cinnamon sugar waffle was pretty well made! Soft and fluffy on the inside with a good flavour of cinnamon. Generous with the sugar as well. The butterscotch pecan was not too sweet, so I was surprised that it did not do too bad complementing the sugary waffle. They served maple syrup on the side, but I personally did not see a need for that considering how the waffle itself already had a tad bit of sweetness.

Had the choice of IBC, A&W or Bundaberg root beer and went with IBC. The ice cream was salted chocolate & macadamia flavour, which tasted creamy and had a peanut butter tone to it. It was a good combination, albeit slightly sweet. Would love to try other combinations of ice cream flavours + root beer!
