They had a number of interesting Asian flavours on their menu. Think Kecap Manis, Assam Pedas or Roasted Zucchini.
We had the Assam Pedas which delivered in terms of the spicy and punchy taste like that of an Assam fishhead curry. Also tried their Beef Ragu which couldnโ€™t compare in taste. What we felt was missing was some good fresh made pasta that would definitely boost the taste of the pastas.
Otherwise, for those attracted to these Asian flavours, their sandwich menu might also appeal.

Asam pedas pasta! I love that they have so much succulent prawns inside. Not spicy one leh. The pasta could be al dente though.

Really love the cakes here ๐Ÿ˜ Rainbow so colorful & cheerful ๐ŸŒˆ Black Forest so mysteriously enchanting ๐ŸŒณ Yam Orh Nee so special & uniquely amazing ๐Ÿ’œ Very very yummy cakes that are fluffy & not too sweet ๐Ÿ˜ โ˜•๏ธ๐Ÿฐ #burpple

If cake sets are good for you as an afternoon indulgence, be sure to check out this Ondeh Cake from The Daily Press. Between the layers of pandan sponge is seemingly gula melaka cream and fragrant kaya, and somewhere between those, there are also traces of desiccated coconut. Sweet as it is, pairing it with a hot coffee or tea will be nice.

And, notice now thin the layer of cream is on the side of the cake? Rest assured that the cake will not be a cream overdose for you.

Cake sets are priced at S$10.00 with a cup of coffee or tea included.

It is said that they made the sandwich from a panini press. The bread crust is hard but the unique taste of the salmon does make up for the shortfall, that's if you like the citrusy salmon. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Back to work later. I'm almost done and is way ahead of deadlines! Fk yea ~

The beef was really tender and yummy! It's cooked with tomato and vegetable stew , the white stuff on top is Parmesan. :) they're finally making their pasta dishes available all day!

This one was called graveyard. Vaguely remembered the red cream to be beetroot cream? Am I correct? The taste was a bit salty though.

Would be better if the sauce is more thick rather then watery. The daily press is my go to cafe in Toa payoh. ๐Ÿ˜ they not only have sandwiches and pastas, they also have salads and egg Benedict. Good coffee too.

nothing like a good brunch to jump start the day. You can see that the hollandaise sauce covers the poached egg generously. I also like that the turkey bacon is Not that crispy. :)

๐Ÿณ it's not everyday that you can eat a yummy egg Benedict like this. ๐Ÿ˜

Mozzarella ($10) @ The Daily Press
It has been a while since I visited The Daily Press! The sandwiches were goooood ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ Toasted well, filled with generous amount of ingredients - roasted tomatoes, basil, infused honey sandwiched between an awesome multigrain bread. One of the better sandwich cafes I have been to ๐Ÿ˜‹

The rather handsome staff (ladies may doubt my judgment haha!) suggested mushroom sandwich among others, and it is pretty good with the caramelised onion, mushroom and cheese filling in ciabatta. Kudos!

The pastas was not al-dente and was soaking in oil. Prices was not exactly cheap either. Well, at least I can hop over to Creamier to end everything in a happy and sweet note!
