Small mugs of beer go for $6-9. Had this indian/ceylonese dessert too. $3.80 for one. You get to choose the sauce (or a savoury variant like egg), we had butterscotch and chocolate.
Originated from India, it is made from flour, water and coconut. Then steamed. Now how did it become like strands of beehoon shaped round? The batter was placed in a rattan shaped little "basket" with holes on the base then batter sifts straight down. As it sifts, the chef will go in a circular motion causing the putu mayam to be rounded.

I had this at the Wild Market. Freshly made onsite which is very rare nowadays. Mostly eaten with shredded coconut and palm sugar. A very simple but delicious breakfast or snack. Oh and by the way... putu mayam means "string hoppers". #putumayam #oldschool #hungrygowhere #burpple #openricesg #stfoodtrending #8dayseat #nomnom #sgbloggers #sgfoodies #sgfollowers #instafoodsg #instafoodies #instafollow #discoversg #traditional #tpasg
