Why did I order pumpkin? I regret it.
Aka fried oysters. They're small and weak but I can't complain at this price point. I love fried oysters.
Huat ah everyone! Thank you @teppeisyokudo for the early CNY lohei - this is the first for our family this year.
This sashimi lohei is made with salmon, hotate, swordfish, tuna and ikura, on strips of white radish and carrot + Teppei’s Kaisen sauce to drizzle on top. Would have loved a lot more touches of sweetness here so there’s more of a refreshing balance instead of the majority savoury notes, but otherwise the sashimi were fresh.
Love the rice and the fish slices + sauce. There are also crushed sesame seeds which add flavor. However portion is pretty small and ikura is not that fresh.
7.5/10
Was craving for something cheesy and as luck would have it, spotted Teppei Syokudo’s new mozzarella stick at their takeaway outlet in Takashimaya’s food hall. This reminded me a lot of Lotteria’s cheese sticks in Korea!! For 2 bucks the portion was not too bad. I enjoyed the stretchy mozzarella it had, though it’s not as generous as Lotteria’s. Thought the batter could be much thinner and crunchier, but it still worked pretty well as a snack.
Update: Passed by and saw that the stick now goes for $3 - it doesn’t feel as worth it as it was previously.
It was such an enjoyable experience buying all three bowls and sharing the different toppings between the three of us. If Teppei Syokudo ever introduced a Sanshoku Kaisen Don (comprising all three flavours in one bowl), it would be a dream.
