Got an additional side for the first time along with our chirashi bowls! The katsu was lightly battered, slightly thinner and more firm than the usuals but still quite worth it for the price. Came with an appetising tangy sweet sauce that went well together!

No time to queue for Man Man? Consider this collab available at Teppei Syokudo!

For a limited time only, there are three unagi bento dishes available at Teppei Syokudo. The Unagi Tamago Don called out to me because it had the two things I loved from Man Man: the unagi and the sweet thick slices of tamago.

The unagi tastes and feels fresh as it's airflown from Japan four times a week. Nothing beats eating at the actual Man Man restaurant but this will do to satisfy the cravings.

We ordered th tamago unagi don ($17.50) and th chopped unagi kaisen don ($19.80) teppei nv fails to disappoint, still my fav of all πŸ™‚ πŸ‘πŸ» 4/5 πŸ“Dhobyghaut mrt #yybffdhobyghaut

Teppei Syokudo has collaborated with Man Man to bring you their unagi without the queue! Was so excited to try this cause I haven't had the time to head down to Man Man myself yet!

I will say, manange your expectations. It was a pleasant bowl, but didn't feel like there was much differentiating this from any other unagi I've had besides a slight bit more char. The tamago was also more firm than expected but I did love the bright flavours from the pickle with the unagi sauce. (Ikura not included πŸ˜›)

You've got till end August to catch the @teppeisyokudo special menu that's a collaboration between #Teppeisyokudo and #ManManUnagi

Unagi Bento ($24.80)
Unagi Tamago Don ($17.90)
Chopped Unagi Kaisen Don ($19.80)
.
The boy and I shared the Unagi Tamago Don ($17.80). Tender and soft, the unagi is sweet and salty from the delicate coat of tare glaze that makes certain to not drown out the unagi's natural flavour. The slightly charred surface still retains its smoky aroma from the charcoal grill.
.
We haven't had freshly grilled unagi from Man Man Unagi but now we've got a taste of it without having braved the queue πŸ˜†

Teppei's seasoning has always been a hit-or-miss. Unfortunately, I'm not a fan of the saltiness it. They were generous with the sashimi though, and it was relatively fresh for the price you're paying. Had several bowls here already, and I can honestly say that the quality had been consistent. The Kaisen don at Teppei daidokoro is even more substantial, with a seemingly larger portion of sashimi for a slightly higher price.

😐 And I'm glad to say that they have lived up to the standard I remember. 😻❀️ Sashimi was perfectly marinated 🍣, and the Mentaiko was just the right amount of Umami Spice. πŸ‘ŒπŸ»Mmmmm... Shall visit again during off peak hours like I usually do then! πŸ˜‹β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ

One of the most value-for-money kaisen dons - most people get the medium sized one ($15.80 for four types of fish + add-on $3.80 for a premium topping) and so did I! Got salmon, swordfish, baby scallops, yellowtail and added mentaiko πŸ’• for a truly satisfying and quick meal.

Yup, I got tempted by all the photos on social media, the too-good-to-be-real reviews. Imma try it ma-self. $15.80 for the Medium bowl with 4 choices, topped with salmon roes. Thick cubes of sashimi, fresh, generous portions just suitable for a lunch meal.
I got the salmon, tuna, yellow tail and whelk. Best combi, everything every bite is just so yum yums.
I didn't ordered any premium items ($3.80 each) because I thought this already tasted like premium.

For a price of $7.50 , you get a bigger portion of raw delights able to choose 2 types of meat , sprinkled with ganish and sashimi soya sauce and sushi rice beneath. Each piece of meat are thick cut so you will feel satisfied after eating your favourite raw!

While I appreciated the marinade that goes into the chunky cubes of sashimi, I felt that the ingredients were lacking in freshness. A slight disappointment to say the least. My quest for the best chirashi-don continues, do you have any recommendations?

πŸ£πŸ˜»πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’— Unfortunately we were sorely disappointed this time around, with the Mentaiko which was barely marinated so it was basically Tarako, and Sashimi so tasteless that we had to pour in a load of Shoyu to add in some form of flavour.

So much fish 😱actually is not cheap but definitely worth the price :)gonna try their truffle kaisendon at their Taka outlet 😍love everything with truffle .Overall rating :4/5

Alright it isn't THAT cheap but it is quite cheap, $15 ++ for a medium sized DIY Chirashi don (choice of 4 types of fish) with an additional $3.80 for salmon roe is quite the steal :-) really a fulfilling meal because the bowl was filled to the brim with freshness !!!! Top quality generous portions means I will definitely come back for more πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹

Customise your own bara chirashi don/salad. Also do not miss the $6 pork katsu that's super value for money.
