I recently tried the fan favorite of Surrey Hills Grocer, the king prawn laksa linguine! The portion was very generous and frankly quite huge - this version of the dish offers a more dry laksa take, rather than the thick coconut-ty sauce of other laksa linguines.
It was fairly nice, with quail eggs and taupok (like any usual laksa), but I still prefer the thick laksa sauce of Cherki (see other review on Cherki food). This really depends on a person’s individual preference for either dry or “wet” laksa!
At $29, the price of this laksa linguine is also quite steep. Cherki’s laksa crab linguine is $20 for their lunch set, which comes with side dishes and a drink, so I couldn’t help but compare the two. However, this king prawn laksa linguine was still worth a try!
Eggs are nice and fluffy. The avocado paste mixed with Crabmeat was surprisingly refreshing along with the bread. It was a yummy dish. The only problem with it was that it was not enough.
Bombolini from Sourbombe Bakery. Coated with lots of sugar bits, soft & fluffy donut filled with thick & creamy filling. Can't rly taste the pistachio but there's a few whole pistachio nuts inside. Coffee & alcohol taste wasn't super strong as well
So savoury with the perfect flowy yolk😍 topped with lots of parmesan cheese & assorted mushrooms too! Al dente pasta texture 👍🏻
Feel so healthy since lentil is high in protein, very unique that it comes with ricotta tortellini. Tortellini pasta is thin with creamy ricotta encased inside. Sourdough is well toasted & pairs well!
Inspired by the laid-back and inviting nature of an Australian backyard, the new outlet ambience very chill and relax.
My fav dish from this outlet is King Prawn Laksa Linguine, Al dente linguine sauteed with house-made laksa sauce, kalamansi, quail eggs and crispy tau pok.
Recommend to try also their speciality seafood dish, Barramundi, locally-farmed barramundi that has been brined and pan-seared, served with burnt cauliflower and quinoa rice with aromatic coconut broth
