Reviews

From the Burpple community

They started as home based business selling their popular sourdough donuts, thanks to its popularity they expanded the business by opening a physical outlet at 9 Penang Road.

Basque Burnt Cheesecake is one of their earliest flavour they have, comes with molten lava explosions of cream cheese and blue cheese inside it; super creamy and tasty.

This season’s flavours are inspired by a vegetable garden. The box presents Pandan Bombe, Taro Bombe, Carrot Cake, Pumpkin Hot Cross Bun, and Spinach, Feta and Bacon Quiche.
I like their Taro Bombe the most, the taro not too sweet and it’s in and outside the bombe.

Trying out another party box of sweet treats! This time from the brainchild of Masterchef SG runner-up. The doughnuts themselves are super light and pleasantly chewy from the many hours of fermentation, texturally like really good youtiao. Generous portions of artisanal flavours are stuffed into the doughnuts with some peakage for identification. They are less sweet than famed franchises, yet packs so much flavour and creaminess into one serving. The fruity ones with a tang that cuts right through, and the rest just absolutely rich and indulgent.

🧡 Cinnabombe (8.4/10)
The classic bombe, it's not filled but it's dusted with cinnamon and sugar. Simple but soso good!!

💚 Basil Cream & Rhubarb (8.4/10)
The basil cream has a bit of a cream cheese-like taste, and the rhubarb tastes like berry jam! (Never had rhubarb before so I don't know what it's supposed to taste like lol) but really nice!

💜 Lavendar Lime Mascarpone (8.4/10)
Pretty interesting flavours! Sweet and very slightly sour with a hint of a lavendar fragrance. Really love the creativity!

🧀 Basque Burnt Cheesecake (8.6/10)
I think this is my fav cuz it tastes like cheesecake in a doughnut! The cream cheese is creamy and sweet 😋 I've actually never had basque burnt cheesecake before but this made me want to have some!

🍵 Hojicha Caramel (8.5/10)
The Hojicha taste isn't super prominent but it has enough of a tea taste to distinguish it from the rest. Really liked this one too 😚

🍌Passionfruit & Caramelised Banana (8.3/10)
Probably one of the sweeter bombos! The banana and passionfruit taste is strong and both stand out really well.

🍋 Blueberry Lemon Thyme (8.5/10)
Super interesting flavour! It's slightly sour and has a nice berry profile, and the cream is pleasant too. Really nice!

🍯 Burnt Honey & Sage Walnuts (8.5/10)
Love the walnuts in these! They added texture and crunch to the custard filling, which had a light honey taste.

🥜 Black Sesame Peanut (7.8/10)
Thought I'd like this the most but I found the flavours a bit odd tbh, the bssm tastes kinda smokey and not like bssm paste in muyoo bread, and I couldn't taste any peanut at all. It was still good but not what I was expecting!

I love that these donuts have a chewy texture which makes the dough so nice to bite into and the fillings are not too sweet , it’s creamy tasty fillings without the excess sweetness . Best Donuts in SG !
