Soon Heng's porridge is truly a great start for people working around Telok Ayer area. To me it's a great comfort food on a rainy day. Tasty and thick, the thickness lasted till the end of the meal. If you like porridge you should try it. With the raw fish of course.
Sashimi this is not but this is just as good if not even better. In the early days this was the closest we could get as our sashimi. Freshly sliced fish to go with porridge. For a mere $3 a plate it beats sashimi hands down.
If you like fish belly porridge and work near Amoy Street Food Centre this is where you get real value for money porridge. My bowl had 5 huge slices of fish belly and it's only $4. Really tasty too.
Soon Soon was closed so went further down. It was my first time having teochew porridge and it was a decent hearty inexpensive meal.
