* This place has closed :( Please try somewhere else. * We love street food. Its delicious, its messy, real and it doesn't break the bank. It's also an essential part of experiencing a country's culture. In Thailand you have street food vendors lining the streets selling all kinds of Thai street food and drinks. What we're trying to do here at Soi 55 is to bring a taste of the Thai street snack & drink culture to Singapore. First through our pop-up stalls at farmers markets and flea markets, and now at The Cathay, One Shenton & Ang Mo Kio! At Soi 55, we offer time-honored traditional Thai iced teas & coffees - just like the kinds you'd get off the streets of Thailand. We are also available for events - you can hire us for your birthday parties, weddings, baby showers or corporate events. Having a mobile tea wagon at your event is a great way to spice things up.

Both Tea are wonderful! πŸ˜‡ Thai Green Milk Tea was nice 😊 and the milk tea taste isn't too strong, even though the Thai Honey Black Tea was a little too sweet πŸ˜‹ , I personally love a sweeter touch to the drinks I have.

Overall Drink is πŸ‘, Service is πŸ‘, AMK outlet have seats and free wi-fi is also available, a nice place to chill out and catch-up with friends and family! πŸ‘ͺ😊

Recommended! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Location of the outlet is conveniently located at Big Mac Centre, right behind AMK's McDonalds and beside AMK Hub.

Probably not so visible as it's away from the main human traffic flow, facing the road. They're the same chaps you'd probably met during the recent Artbox so you can also find their Thai milk tea drink or softserve here. Like the bottled one since there's no ice and you can enjoy the drink in its original state.

Soft, rich and creamy, the swirls are available in two sizes. The small includes a choice of one crunchy and one chewy topping whereas the large has one crunchy topping and two chewy toppings; both finished with a homemade Almond Biscotti. Having mine topped with almond crunchies and aloe vera at the base, the twist is the way to go if you want the best of both worlds. A good balance of sweetness, milky-ness and slight bitter-tea taste, the Cha Tra Mue tea leaves infused treat was rich and fragrant - much like taking the tea in ice cream form which went superbly well with the nutty creaminess of the Coconut soft serve. Not overpowering one another, the flavours were also on the sweeter sider but the textures were great and really perfect for today’s (so far) sunny weather.

Now what could be better than a cup of Thai Milk Tea? Only a cup of Thai Milk Tea soft-serve! Available at Soi55’s Ang Mo Kio outlet, this icy treat serves as a coolant, necessary for the hotter days of the weather which has been mercilessly polarised lately. 😣

This was creamier than it was icy, but judging from the texture and the taste, I have a hunch that little was altered from their original recipe of the Thai Milk Tea before they converted it to this glorious spiralling steeple. Not that it was a turn-off at all, but it was definitely a little predictable in that sense. Some jellies take cover beneath the soft-serve, which was a pleasant surprise. It also added some bite to an otherwise regular ice-cream treat.πŸ˜—

Lastly, you can choose to ornament your cup of soft-serve with various toppings – between sago jelly, grass jelly, chocolate sprinkles, rainbow sprinkles and coconut chips. They may not seem like much, but they will make it more picture-perfect to help add life to your Instagram accounts. 😎

This is available in two sizes – small ($3) and large ($4) – and available in three flavours – Thai Milk Tea, Coconut and Hybrid. With really affordable prices and a prime location at 51 @ AMK (a 5-minute walk from the Ang Mo Kio Bus Interchange), you should definitely consider making plans to visit Soi55 sometime! πŸ˜› (7.1/10)

Thai Milk Tea & Coconut Soft Serve ($3.90/Reg)
Brought the girls out to enjoy some smooth & creamy cold treat to beat the scorching summer heat! These babies do melt really quickly though, prepare to chop chop with your camera & enjoy them asap! The regular size allows you to get a crunchy & chewy topping of your choice. As for recommendations, most of my friends prefer their Thai milk tea flavour, but I'm gonna be honest about being bias because I personally love coconut everything πŸ’•

Not the prettiest looking cause it was already melting before it even got to our table, but thank goodness the taste saved it. Fickle minded us couldn't decide on the Thai Milk Tea or Coconut so we ended up getting the 'Twist', a mix of both. That surprisingly worked out well, both didn't overpower each other and you can still get the slight creaminess from the Coconut as well as the sweetness and tea fragrance from the Thai Milk Tea. It was however, really quite sweet!

This large cup comes with a choice of 1 crunchy topping (coconut crumble, almond crunchies, toasted coconut flakes, marshmallow and rainbow sprinkles) and 2 chewy toppings (aloe vera, red ruby) while the small ($3.90) comes with 1 of each. Additional toppings are at $0.50 each.

Update: Went back again recently and found the texture and taste slightly inconsistent. The second time round, both flavours were more icy than I would have liked, while the Coconut had a tad saltiness in it which I would have preferred without. The Thai Milk Tea one was still fragrant though!
