Take it slow this weekend and treat yourself to a leisurely brunch at Slow Bakes.
This hidden gem, located near KTPH, offers a picturesque view of the reservoir, creating the perfect ambiance for heart-to-heart conversations with your friends or family.
Slow Bakes specializes in bread and beverages only, and we couldn't resist ordering a variety of bread to sample, with nothing priced above $5 each.
The Matcha Bread with almond butter spread allows you to choose the type of bread that pairs with the jam. The almond butter spread is authentically rich, while the bread carries a subtle hint of matcha, though it can be a bit dry.
The Chocolate Hazelnut bread not only smells divine but also features a dark chocolate hazelnut spread, making it surprisingly not too sweet. This was my personal favorite among all the bread options.
On the other hand, the Cheese Poto seems like a standard cheesy bun with a small amount of melted cheese and wouldn't make it to my recommendation list.
The Cinnamon roll, on the other hand, is delicious as it strikes the right balance between sweetness and a bread-like texture. I would highly recommend giving this one a try as well.

love the ambience! seeing a couple of good reviews, i wished i enjoyed the food more here! the set came w 4 soft boiled eggs, 4 slices of toast with spread & 2 drinks.
whilst i really wanted myself to enjoy the food, i found their offerings (though unique) unimpressive. with the exception of their barn-laid eggs and berries jam, which was a big yes from my tastebuds.
Their breads are substantial and delicately crafted - you can tell that they put in a lot of effort for each flavour.๐ซถ๐ป๐ซถ๐ป The pumpkin loaf and brioche was fluffy โ๏ธโ๏ธ and delicious with that pumpkin sweetness, and their sourdough was really well made. Weโre looking forward to try their other flavours (sweet potato and turmeric?! yes pls!!) ๐คค๐คค
.
Their spreads MUST be raved about - just LOOK at the amount of avocado they give you! ๐ฅ๐ฅAnd oh their homemade kaya is not to be overlooked. It was authentic and fragrant with ๐๐ค๐ก๐ ๐ฅ๐๐ฃ๐๐๐ฃ ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ง๐๐๐ ๐๐ค๐๐ค๐ฃ๐ช๐ฉ ๐๐ก๐๐ซ๐ค๐ช๐ง๐จ,๐ฟ๐ฅฅ and heavenly when paired with that butter ๐ง . Next time, weโre definitely getting a jar of that kaya! ๐ฏ

We just knew we HAD to drop by this place when our friends mentioned it! ๐คฉ๐ฉ @slow.bakes is a breakfast cafe situated inside tzu chi humanistic youth centre (right beside KTPH, a short walk from Northpoint). Itโs semi-outdoors and overlooks a scenic view of Yishun Pond - perfect for a great start to the day. ๐๏ธ๐ฟ

We went for their ๐ฝ๐๐ ๐ฝ๐ง๐๐๐ ๐๐๐จ๐ฉ ๐๐๐ฉ ($18), which consists of 4 loaf slices with spreads of your choice, 4 eggs, and 2 drinks. ๐๐ฅโ๏ธ After much deliberation, we went for their ๐๐ค๐ช๐ฃ๐ฉ๐ง๐ฎ ๐จ๐ค๐ช๐ง๐๐ค๐ช๐๐ ๐จ๐ก๐๐๐๐จ, ๐ฅ๐ช๐ข๐ฅ๐ ๐๐ฃ ๐ก๐ค๐๐ ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐ง๐๐ค๐๐๐ ๐ฅ๐, topped with their ๐๐ค๐ข๐๐ข๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐-๐๐ช๐ฉ๐ฉ๐๐ง ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐ซ๐ค๐๐๐๐ค ๐ง๐ฅ. The traditional soft boiled eggs were hot, runny-but-not-too-watery, and just perfect when smeared on that bread.๐ณ๐ฅน๐ฅน
A popular bakery cafe a few minutes walk from Yishun MRT Station, hidden within the Tzu Chi Humanistic Youth Centre.
It is consider an open and outdoor space with seats overlooking the pond outside, a perfect place to chill and chat.
Open early morning till lunch hours only. You can either dine-in to enjoy some of their breakfast set or takeaway their breads.
They offered a few types of bread here including the sourdough, naturally-leavened soft loaves and buns; which you can find all in display shelf.
I gotten their Chocolate Hazelnut, Adzuki Bun & Seeded Bun; which all very soft and fluffy, generous with the fillings inside.
Totally worth getting some of them when you are in Yishun area.
