Visited on a weekday night to try out their offers and was pleasantly surprised. Tried out a variety of dishes: we had the grilled squid, sliced beef marinated in ponzu sauce, grilled green chilli peppers, kurobuta skewers, vingered grilled fish, as well as the beef tongue.

My personal favourites were the beef tongue and the beef marinated in ponzu sauce. The beef tongue was grilled very nicely and melted in your mouth like it should. As for the beef marinated in ponzu sauce the flavours of the ponzu really compliments the char of the grilled beef and it would have made a very tasty starter paired with sake. A dash of tobiko on top gave it that extra mouth feel and crunch.

Liked the food and would drop by again to try out their sake offerings.

Visited Shukuu Izakaya last night, it is conveniently located near telok ayer mrt. We ordered a variety of dishes, and some of my favorites are their Gyu ponzu - beef slices marinated in ponzu sauce topped with some ebiko; grilled surume squid - the dish came out hot and the the squid was grilled to perfection, the chew was just right; gyu tan (beef tongue) - don’t knock it till you try it! It was cooked well and so very flavourful! Would have ordered another portion if I had more stomach space! Will definitely be back to try more of their dishes and their sake pairing!

really enjoyed the food here at Shukuu. There was a wide selection of izakaya food to choose from , and all that i chose were really good! Their mentai rosti was one of my favourites, the creamy mentaiko paired perfectly well with the piping hot rosti. would definitely reccomend you to try it when you visit !

Nice cozy jap place! the grilled skewers were all really moreish and smokey, and a nice surprise was the grilled eggplant :,)

The carbs were okay, and the udon was a little bit of a letdown with only one hard boiled egg and noodles. Stick to the grilled stuff and the sake!
