Yummy Lor Mee Traditional lor mee @ $4.50 Tastes great, though can have a bit more garlic. Comes with all sorts of ingredients in small quantity but substantial enough. Their chilli isn't very spicy but they also add chilli padi which is really good (for me). This is the most expensive item on their menu. They also have chicken cutlet option at $3.50 and fish option at $4. But definitely going back for this traditional version which has fish, chicken, braised meat and ngoh hiang.

Lor Mee 3.5 extra meat +1 A pretty popular stall that only sells one thing, so you know they're good if they've been open for so long The soup is lighter than normal I believe(I don't have lor Mee very often). While I don't like lor mee's gravy in general, I feel their generous amounts of braised pork and their siobak really makes this a treat. Their siobak has a strong caramelised aroma. Couple that w their sour chili and their grated garlic makes this one of the most palatable lor mees I've ever had

Stir-fried Mala [$7.60] Wow this is probably the cheapest mala I’ve ever had... I shared with a friend and it was just enough for both of us. It is not mind blowing but it tastes very homely, and not as oily as the ones I’ve tried elsewhere.

Nyonya Kueh Bought an array of Nyonya kueh from Xian Cheng There are assorted ang ku kueh, glutinous rice, rempah udang, kueh dar dar, tapioca kueh, rainbow kueh lapis and other sweet kueh that I have no idea what they’re called The AKK skin are all pretty thin with good amount of filling. Rempah udang is fragrant and tasty. Overall will be back to buy their kueh again!

Signature O Sauce Noodle Taiwanese cuisine apparently. Don't ask me what O stands for. Anyway if this is their signature item, their end is near.

Teochew Dumpling Soup Mee Pok Brings out the “Teochew-ness” in me whenever I have this comfort bowl of teochew dumpling soup with mee pok. Priced at $4 with dumpling and a dollar less without, this is certainly the most value for money bowl of comfortness you find in authentic old school Singaporean hawker fare in the CBD. As early as 830am, the stall whips up probably the most savoury bowl of goodness filled with minced pork, sliced pork, mushroom, fishball, sliced fish cake and teochew dumpling. Their Mee Pok comes al dente even without specific instructions from a fussy Mee Pok customer like me. Find them at the interim hawker centre right outside Telok Ayer MRT.

Best Teh C Siew Dai by old uncle! Support our PG Hawkers!👴🏼👵🏼👍🏼 It’s quite hard to find a stall that sells decent Teh C. Most of the time, I’ll get diluted ones.😕 The old uncle here makes a smooth cup of Teh C Siew Dai with skills. Not too sweet, just the right amount of tea taste, strong enough not to get overpowered by the C. The perfect ratio between Teh & C. At only $1 per cup, it’s a steal! This stall is managed by an old uncle and aunty👴🏼👵🏼, I’m not sure when will they retire. Let us appreciate our pioneer generation hawkers, show our support and enjoying it while it last. 🙏🏼❤️

Decent Hokkien Mee Fatty Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee serves a good plate of hokkien mee. I like that it is on the moist side and you can taste the savoury prawn stock in every mouthful. The chilli however is definitely the star as it packs a nice fiery punch.

Good Hokkien Mee This Hokkien mee is the more soupy kind, rather than the more fried, dry kind. I added all the chilli provided inside and it made it even better; very flavourful and yet packing a good punch. I’d say this is one of the better ones I’ve tried, but I still love chomp chomp’s most, and Yi Ji Hokkien Mee at Kovan (near Punggol nasi lemak) for their crazy chilli. 👅

Slightly Disappointed Apparently this is one of the branded stalls at Ci Yuan. It had that unidentified taste I really frown at my noodles, like it's overcooked. This stall falls into a category I have - semi-popular brands serving mass-market but unspectacular food.

For Halal Mookata Located in Pasir Ris Central Hawker Centre, this coffeeshop stall is the place for yummy Halal-certified mookata. Prices for the meats are reasonable (from $2.30 for marinated chicken) but note that they require you hit a minimum amount of $25 for a la carte orders. It might be easier and better value to go with the Platter Combo ($25 for two persons, $40 for four), which includes a chicken soup base, assorted meats like marinated beef and chicken, as well as veggies. Take Burppler Alex Chua's advice to add on $2 to change the soup to a tom yum broth for extra oomph! Pro tip: They are currently closed, but will reopen on 18 December.
