On a hawker food trail today around the west. Our first stop is Blk 640 Bukit Batok, which is 3 mins walk from Bukit Batok MRT. Xiang Mei roast meat is highly recommended by many foodies. They still use charcoal to roast, hence you get that mild crackling skin with juicy meat. Their roast chicken is also decent, but char siew is not their forte lah. Complimentary bowl of soup for every order!
grilled fish with rice
chicken cutlet with chips
While I was having trouble to decide on my dinner, the long queue at a roast meat stall got my attention. 👀 This stall in a S11 Food House, located right behind Bukit Batok Interchange. Dull looking kopitiam has its hidden gem too 🤗
Sio Bak, 烧肉, has the one of best proportion of fats to its lean meat. Skin is slightly crispy, not hard at all. 😋
Char Siew, 叉烧,is nicely marinated and I totally love its sauce (definitely homemade) and I got a generous piece of a corner piece 😍 that charred flavour 😆

I LOVE their sauce; goes well with the rice. Plus, they are generous with the soup! I finished this in like 5 mins..... 🤤⠀
Who says that the west side doesn’t have good food 🤷🏻♀️
