Chee cheong fun is one of my favourite dishes! The chee cheong fun served here are thin and soft, similar to the HK style (instead of the thick ones in SG). They had several options such as curry, red/black sweet sauce, ‘yam cake’ which is their specialty, and you can also choose deep-fried yong tau foo sides to go along with it. The portions were very substantial.
We opted for:
- Scallion oil: this was your scallion oil noodle but in cheong fun style. Very light and delicious!
- Black sweet sauce: of course you have to compare the traditional! This was a bit too sweet for my liking, but the sauce was more thin compared to the thick sauce you get in SG
Spent total RM12 for these two + 2 cups of kopi-C kosong
For the veggies out there, there is also a vegetarian restaurant that serves dim sum next door!
The curry chee cheong funwas yummy but I felt that the curry taste was a bit too light for my liking. The cheong fun was really silky and the yong tau foo ingredients were yummy too. I particularly liked the crispy beancurd skin and the eggplant with fishcake 😋
