($8) + ($3.50 for sausage) I felt that their pork chop was quite salty tbh but then I regretted to order sausage but its quite normal tbh (but then they got set meal?) I don't think that I will be coming back again?
($8.50) HMMM THE SIZE WAS QUITE SMALL BUT I SAW PEOPLE ORDER THIS AND QUITE BIGGER THAN ME 🥹🤯. BUT THEY GIVE ME TWO PIECES INSTEAD OF ONE ??? But then the taste for fish was quite weird tbh. I felt that their standard dropped a lot since I went there last 2 year ?
If there's one place I would travel to satisfy my cravings for old-school Western food, it would be Rasa Sayang Western Food! The lunch crowd here would usually go for their thicc & crispy Chicken Cutlet or the also generously portioned Chicken Chop. But I'd always gravitate towards the latter for the mushroom sauce. It's well-balanced, not overly salty and has a subtle hint of sweetness that goes well with the tender chicken chop. The meat portions were definitely not as huge as they used to be before, but still bang for your buck given that it's also adorned with a selection of 4 sides like garlic bread and fries. While the crinkle-cut fries were average and didn't impress, the garlic bread was crumbly & buttery enough to mop up the rest of the sauce!

Visited Rasa Sayang Western Food to try their CHICKEN CHOP after watching @eatbook 's youtube video on chicken chops in Singapore!
Ordered two sets of chicken chop ($7.50) for both of us. While the price was pretty steep for a coffee shop meal, the price was still ok if you compare to other western meals.
However, the chicken chop was not as MIND BLOWING as we expected it to be. To us, the food was pretty average? My main gripe was that the food was served lukewarm?? Even though we had to wait for the food to be served with a buzzer, the food was somehow not hot? Even the grilled chicken chop (understandable for the sides which will be pre-prepared for all the mains)
The sides here are fixed - garlic bread, coleslaw, baked beans, French fries. For those who do not eat coleslaw etc like me, you can make a special request to change it to more fries.
As for the creamy mushroom sauce that online reviews raved about, it was not WOW to us. The sauce tasted more like tomatish sauce to us, though we liked the addition of mushrooms to it.
The chicken chop itself was nicely grilled and juicy. Just that I felt that it lacked in marination.
Will I eat it again? Sure, if I am in the area. But I will not purposely travel all the way to Ang Mo Kio just to eat it.

whoever lived in AMK will know this place.
chicken chop and chicken cutlet and most importantly the garlic bread all don't taste like before but portion and price considered reasonable for a neighborhood kopitiam stall.
Though the portion of the chicken might not have been as big as back in those days, the Chicken Chop (S$6.50) here was still prepared in the very old-school format, where every plate still came with baked beans, coleslaw, fries and a slice of baguette.
And not forgetting to specially mention the middle-aged crew here who had served in the previous Ang Mo Kio S11 stall and were still fighting strong now. But I would also wonder if they would hand over to a new generation of hawkers next time…
