Fancy a comforting chicken pot on a rainy day? Head to Qi Xiang Chicken Pot for just that! Their saucy Half Chicken Pot is sure to do the trick if you’re dining in a small group. Just don’t forget to top it up with their homemade chilli!

You can definitely expect punchy peppery flavours with a touch of sweetness from the herbs. Expect to feel the meat and heat sweats as you slurp and chow down the food. You can also add in extra ingredients like enoki mushrooms, handmade meatballs, fishballs and vegetables, priced from $3.50 to $5 per plate.

Qi Xiang Chicken Pot has also introduced snacks like the deep fried pork collar that you can shake in the spice mix, and a stand-alone stall that you can order oyster omelette to go with your chicken pot.

Dabaoed the half chicken pot ($38.80) and prepared the ingredients at home. So satisfying!!

Quite a big portion, good for 2 pax.

Their small spicy is actually pretty spicy already. Don't go for medium unless you really love heat

I tot how good can it be but turns out it's really not bad. The ckn was very tender and well cooked, a bit unexpected from the general vibes of the place. Even though the sauce seems like some normal soy based braising sauce, actually has its own character and is pretty addictive. The ckn isn't marinated or steeped in the sauce, so be sure to mix well w the sauce before eating

There's also onions and stuff inside

The stretch along Upper Serangoon where Mee Sek Kopitiam is located is the supper hub of Upper Serangoon/Hougang. There’s a 鸡煲(Chicken Hotpot) war going on between Qi Xiang and Qi Wei... End of the day the consumer wins lah. I always go to Qi Xiang because the Kopitiam (non-aircon) setting is more rustic and comfortable for supper hangs. For 3 pax the half-chicken should do. Best thing to top the pot with must be the Tau Kee. Soaks up the sauce. This is a 中辣 and is not spicy at all. Top the pot up with their homemade chilli please. Call to book in advance as the place is packed on weekends from 7:30-9:00pm.

Whole chicken + 2 additional ingredients (vege and glass noodle) for ~ $50. Each additional ingredient cost $3.50 which is not cheap. Broth was flavourful but tasted exactly like other places that serves chicken pot. Nothing special about this place.
