Peanut butter, chocolate chips, and salted caramel pretzel — all I need to please this fatty tummeh. The buttermilk pancakes themselves were thick and fluffy, and though I would've liked them a tad moister the generous swab of peanut butter made everything ok. Coconut jelly and fresh mango slices to cut through all those bold flavours 👍🏻

Pillar of Salt has kept their menu pretty much the same since I visited in 2017, but the components of the dishes seem to be changed up every now and then.

The Eggs Royale is a menu staple featuring house woodchip and tea-smoked salmon. The variations between the version I had then and the current iteration?

White kimchi vs dill hollandaise, sautéed kale vs chickpea fritter, blanched asparagus vs pickled cauliflower, and togarashi vs soft herbs. Whatever the difference, I’m sure the dish remains a royal treat.

The Aussies sure know how to whip up a solid brekkie, and this Turkish dish is a fine example of brunch done right.

Pillar of Salt’s cilbir has two immaculate poached free-range eggs (look at that gorgeous yolk!) on roasted garlic & herb labneh (strained yoghurt that is like Greek yoghurt but thicker), with smoked paprika, cumin spiced burnt butter, and toasted Turkish bread to mop the plate clean.
