The only other time I had chendol soft serve was from 7/11 eons ago (crap I might have just revealed how ancient I am) and this blows it out of the water. I had the normal chendol 🍦previously and that was already so good to begin with. If you enjoy the taste of durian, the durian topping will bring a smile to your face. #burpple #overrunsg
When you have objects in the foreground and background of the same color, the portrait mode on the iPhone 7+ will mostly likely mess up, as you can see with the spoon being 'bokeh-ed' out too.
Queued for at least 10 mins before getting this durian chendol softserve ($7)
And it was great. I love that it successfully Incorporated the flavours of chendol into an ice cream concoction, though they could have been more generous with their ingredients. The durian was fresh, and had a very sweet note to it, which sort of overpowered the entire dish. Being the durian lover that I am, I did not complain. But if you're a chendol purist, give the durian version a miss.
I highly recommend you to share this as it does get a little jelat after a few mouthfuls.
First time trying chendol and I'm still v underwhelmed buy and aconfused about the flavor? It was a good refresher for a saturday afternoon though😅 probably would only go back to try their other flavors! (6/10)
A quick indulgence and escape from the blazing sun in the afternoon, Overrun got just the thing to cool you down. Creamy and smooth, their "Standard Chendol" ($6) was such a treat. With the delicate fragrance of pandan from the green worm-like jellies, all I needed was more of that gooey gula melaka and coconut shavings to complement the luscious swirls.
The intense pungent durian took over the entire taste of this dessert and I can't taste the sweet Gula Melaka and chendol flavour. Hmmm maybe can try without the durian? $7 for durian, $6 without durian
Finally got to try Overrun's chendol softserve! Soooo good but so sinful – you definitely want to share this too, it was freakin' massive! 😍
You can also get a durian version if everyone in your group is willing (will having that next time!). Do note that they don't have seating and it's more of a takeaway concept. 🏃
Lusciously thick and creamy, the not-too-sweet soft serve of the "Standard Chendol" ($6) which comes drizzled with gula melaka and sprinkled with coconut flakes, was an instant hit with us. It's imperative that you eat it instantly too as it melts very fast.
Not long, just 5 minutes 😂😂😂 and I love it.... 💗
In frame: Soft serve chendol with durian ($7). You can also get the soft serve chendol without durian ($6) or just the ice cream ($5).
Made it down to Overrun, which offer local flavour soft serves like Chendol and Durian. Flavour of the week is Mango Sticky Rice, so gotta get them before Sunday! Icy coconut soft serve, sweet chunks of mango and purple sticky rice balls, good for the hot afternoon.
I've totally been missing out, having just discovered this awesome #chendol #softserve. I highly recommend you to top up $1 for durian. It's legit durian purée 😱
The soft serve itself was on point and not too sweet but it literally vaporizes into the air as you can see from this pic. Check out the vapour 😂 my dearest 🙌 model : @damien_tc barely held onto this cup for 30 seconds before it started to melt.
We really needed a straw about 30 seconds later when it melted do much that it overflowed into my precious hand model's hand 😂
On another note : they have mint soft serve with choco chip which reminded me of king's peppermint chip ice cream but with a lighter taste that melts a lot faster 😂 @overrun.sg was very generous with the chocolate chips ! 👍
This durian chendol was delicious! The icecream was smooth and flavourful. You may think that the strong durian flavour would cover the chendol but no, it really blends in well together! With $6, you can get this amount of quantity and quality which is pretty affordable. I would recommend that you share with one or two people because the portion is quite a lot for just one person. Overall a great experience!
Chendol soft-serve ice cream returns in a majestic way at this Overrun Cafe. A newer version with it's very own twist from the oldies 711 Mr Softee. You could taste heaven perfectly!!
The key to this Malaysian-style dessert? Lots of gula Melaka, green worm pandan jelly and the all-important chendol flavoured soft serve. Swing by Overrun's takeaway stand on a hot day and cool down with the Chendol Soft Serve ($6). It bears an uncanny resemblance to 7-Eleven's Mr Softee Chendol ice cream — except it's better because of the fresh ingredients! The store only churns out a limited amount of chendol soft serve a day, so be sure to head down early. Pro tip: Keep a look out on their Instagram for their elusive Durian Chendol soft serve — you won't want to miss it!
Avg price: $6 per person

Ended up here in an attempt to beat the mad heat but the softserve melted as quickly as I did once I stepped back out under the merciless sun. This $6 cup comes with standard toppings of cendol jelly, coconut shavings and gula melaka sauce. It reminded me so much of the 7-Eleven Mr Softee's cendol ice-cream, but better cause of the toppings! This was smooth, slightly creamy and not overly sweet (ask for less gula melaka if you'd like less sweet, they're very generous with it!). It's a big cup, so it's great for sharing and gobbling down before it melts!
