Then leave some space for their freshly baked scones when having their Kyoto in Autumn Weekend Afternoon Tea set ($58 per person). Loving the accompanying jam and creams, I enjoyed the flavours of the Matcha White Chocolate and Ginger Confit Scones. Not too overwhelming, the pieces of ginger studded in the tender-crunchy baked good resembled a sweeten gari (pickled ginger) - an intriguing mix that worked well with the Yuzu Posset and housemade Cherry Jam on the side. Earthy and aromatic, the Matcha White Chocolate Scone was not to be missed even with my exploding belly. A solid treat for matcha fans.

Things get seasonal with One-Ninety Bar at Four Seasons Hotel for their Kyoto in Autumn Weekend Afternoon Tea ($58 per person). Artfully injecting familiar elements and flavours, the Asian themed set crafted by Pastry Chef Reiko Yokota of Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto was a delightful affair. The danity bites paired with a specially curated Japanese Tea selection (skip the rather bland Yuzu Kukicha and get the Osmanthus Sencha instead) and freshly brewed LAVAZZA coffee or gryphon tea.

Savoury highlights included a chilled glass of smooth King Crab Chawanmushi with the briny burst of sweet ikura, and a savoury Saikyo Miso Foie Gras Terrine. You can also expect a fancy Cream Cheese and Bottarga Chive Tart, a foolproof Organic egg salad, ebiko-filled brioche as well as one-bite finger sandwiches.

More my speed was the Sweets Box, which saw the likes of a fragrant Yuzu White Chocolate Bonbon, soft delicate Matcha Moss Sphere, juicy Japanese Strawberry Mochi with azuki, and a Hōjicha Tea and Apricot Cookie Sandwich. The “Kuri Kinton” candied chestnut came with a surprising meringue-like center while the Sweet Soy and Ginger Mousse was umami and a wonderfully balanced number. The mousse was creamy and light which matched harmoniously with the slightly gelatinous sweet soy that was subtly perfumed with ginger.

PSA this is from one-ninety the restaurant, but if you order it at the bar they will make it for you and bring it over. No need to go to the bar specifically, basically

It's a good souffle, edge of top was crusty
and inside was airy. In the centre was kind of molten tho

The flavour is slightly different from what you expect. I mean clearly it's chocolate but somewhat unique actually. Darjeeling ice cream was nice, there's a bit of fruitiness and a slight acidity. Meshes ok w the souffle but seems like it doesn't have an impact

Overall it's alright but abit hard to pay 20 for this after tax, unless u are into vibes

5 stars all the way. The decor, the posh vibe, the superb staff, the chef, service. Everything on point.

I went there completely unaware of the buffet concept. I ordered 2 main course dishes with coffee and tea, and was already happy. Then the staff starting getting me all these salads and starters and dessert and another tea pot. I went to the open buffet and chef wanted me to try everything. He insisted that I tried the cheese and bacon. Lovely service.

There is an outside bar area which is smoker's Friendly. Added to the experience.

We paid around 250 for 2 including wine. Fantastic value for money

Quite a filling array of tea sandwiches, the savouries fared pretty well too when compared to the danity floral-themed sweets. The Scottish Smoked Salmon on Mini Brioche gifting that salty burst while the Tomato and Green Olives on Wholemeal Bread was a rush of tangy sweetness. The mildly earthy Truffle and Portobello Mushroom two-bite sandwiches were delish as well.

My floral dream come true with Four Seasons Hotel's ethereal Floral Afternoon Tea ($48 per person/standard) by Nicolai Bergmann.

Utterly exquisite, the botanical-inspired sweets were too cute to eat! An experience for both the eyes and the palate, I enjoyed all the offerings. However, I do have some favourite items. in time for the festivities, the petite Pu Er Mandarin Crémeux Delights were really well put together. Filled with a smooth Jivara milk chocolate Pu Er crémeux, the center of the handcrafted Mandarin-shaped gem was a vibrant heart of orange puree. Tangy, rich, and complex. There was also a nice crunch from the use of hazelnut royaltine.

Similarly, the Elderflower-lemon Panna Cotta had a nice balance of textures as the velvety cream-based dessert was topped with buttery crumbs. And it didn’t taste jelat at all as the layer of lemon curd provided that lovely zing. Even though the taste of the elderflower was light and the whipped cream felt a little excessive, the classic number was equipped with that mild acidity which counters the milkiness of the silky base.

Back at One-Ninety for Chef Audrey’s Single Origin Dark Chocolate Soufflé with Darjeeling Ice Cream.

Dark and intense yet has a light and custardy texture, the chocolate soufflé is a showstopper of a dessert. Darjeeling ice cream paired with the chocolaty dessert is brilliant, as it intertwines flavour and texture.

By Nicolai Bergmann, four seasons’ flower artist and designer, each of the sweet and savouries bites have links to floral flavor or decorations. I enjoy the sweets more than savouries. The sweets are not too sweet and it rested well on my palette, paired well with their recommended pink rose and Marigold Tea.

We were also served vanilla and black currant scones with lemon balm curd and strawberry preserves. I absolutely love the scones, not dry, and goes so well with the lemon balm curd. Paired it with another cup of tea or coffee.

For $48 per pax, i think it is worth ! And I totally Love the ambience and vibes at the One ninety Bar

4⭐ High tea affair with the ladies after 8 months. There's 1 for 1 Peranakan high tea at Four Season under the HSBC wow promotion. Every diner can order 2 drinks and we ordered a coffee and tea each. We had the speciality Candlenut Signature Tea Blend, Royal Peony, Jasmine Silk Pearls & Osmanthus Sencha. The savoury are tasty but the otah toast is considered spicy for me. The scones are one of the better ones I had and I realised I didn't took photo when typing this post. 😅 As for the sweets, the buah keluak, kaya toast and kueh bingkah are slightly less sweet. It would be better if they serve the sweets together with the savoury instead of serving the savoury first then the sweets.

Desserts come in the form of Kueh Bingkah, hand-grated tapioca cake topped with caramelized coconut and sweeten with gula melaka; the quintessential Kueh Salat with its fragrant pandan and coconut milk custard; Kaya Toast layered with butter and sprinkled with Lam Yeo Coffee Powder; decadent Buah Keluak Tart which marries the earthy notes of the seed with the bittersweetness of Valrhona Chocolate; Chinese-style butter cookies studded with caramelized walnuts and tempeh; and my favourite of the lot, the Lemongrass Cake. Relishing the refreshing lemongrass mousse, I really liked the light-as-a-cloud pandan sponge and hints of rose in the fresh cream.

Lastly from the kitchens of One-Ninety came freshly baked Vanilla and Pandan Scones. The scented bakes were best enjoyed warm, with generous dollops of homemade Pineapple-Gula Melaka jam, Strawberry-Rose Preserve and Devonshire clotted cream.

Things got heated with Chef Lee’s Mum’s Signature Chicken Curry - noting that the spice creeps up slowly and tickles the throat. Served with roti jala, traditional net crepes, the bowl of curry was packing some real lemak goodness with hearty chunks of tender chicken and potato.

Delivering bold flavours, One-Ninety Bar's Peranakan Afternoon Tea ($48 per person) savouries were a hit and were as good as I imagined.

Back with their specially crafted weekend-only Peranakan Afternoon Tea ($48 per person), Candlenut and Four Seasons Hotel Singapore’s set was a belly-bursting affair indeed. Available for a limited time only, with seatings from 2pm to 5pm, the menu comprises a lovely array of Nyonya kueh and assorted pastries. To start, I was presented with a choice of freshly brewed coffee or tea and went on ahead with the Candlenut Signature Tea Blend - a mix of Oolong and Butterfly Pea Flower with delicate notes of Jasmine and Pandan.

Delivering bold flavours, their savouries were a hit and were as good as I imagined. Surrounded by a flurry of snow-white coconut shavings, the Kueh Pie Tee was superbly balanced as the roasted candlenut, kaffir lime leaf and aromatic white coconut curry did not take away the natural sweetness of the lobster. The thin homemade shell also made it very delicate and exquisite. Then things got heated with Chef Mum’s Signature Chicken Curry. But, what better and daintier way to enjoy the hearty flavours of Nonya cuisine than with more bite-sized treats; a moreish Otah Toast - grilled mackerel cake stuffed between toasted butter brioche; and a lesser-seen Pang Susi - a sweet potato bun with a crumbly pastry top filled with spiced chicken and bits of sweet candied winter melon.

Nibble on dainty Christmas-inspired patisseries, slather Devonshire clotted cream on warm scones, savour finger sandwiches before polishing off the Christmas cookies.

Enjoy a languid afternoon by indulging in a glass of bubbly Kir Royale or freshly brewed Lavazza coffee. And for this festive season, get to delight in Audrey’s signature Valrhona hot chocolate!
