One Bowl Man serves up a slight twist to the favourite local fare, black garlic oil or XO sauce as well as Truffle Wantons.

It’s all greasy, salt-forward and highly shrimpy fun, although the vegetable stalks possessed as much personality as a blank OAS sheet, and as far as being classified as a wanton mee dish is concerned, the XO sauce element places the noodle dish in X-Files-esque territory. 3.3/5

Their signature xo sauce dumpling mee with charsiew.

Noodles not so springy. Charsiew was fatty and not the usual roasty caramelised finish. XO sauce was good with bits of haebeehiam (dried shrimp). Small prawns were wrapped in the fat dumplings, perhaps a tad salty. I prefer slightly more meat in my charsiew. I was hungry and I finished everything. Whilst it is a decent bowl, it needs alittle extra something to have its own unique character.

Be prepared to pay more as the eatery is located in atas Marina Bay Link mall. This bowl costs $8.50. Not a very big portion but you get to enjoy it in cool comfort.
