Mushroom Aglio Olio with 3 battered fish for $9.90 at Clark Quay! The fish was nice & crispy & noodles was spicy. Drop by when you want a nice value for money meal!
The battered fish is freshly fried, crispy on the outside and moist and flaky fish meat in the inside. However the pasta lacks a bit flavour, perhaps there can be more garlic put into making it. Overall, the ingredients tasted quite fresh and i am satisfied with the price point of 9.80 SGD, good value for money consider there are 3 battered fish served. Go try it!
Wallet friendly & yummy makes a happy tummy!!
Used to always come here for the Spicy Meatballs Tomato Cream ($9.80) - non-spicy tho, don't ask why. Tried the Battered Fish with Mushroom Aglio Olio ($9.80 too!!!) this time and the battered fish is sooo good, better than some Fish & Chips places even! Matched with their homemade coriander dip & aglio olio that kinda looks like pesto, rly a steal in town for those who want to save up for drinks later @ Clarke Quay!
Once Upon a Thyme is one of those places I would go for fuss-free pasta on a budget — it's simple offerings somehow satisfies, especially when you are just looking for something to treat yourself without unnecessarily splurging at a hipster cafe.
Yes, the pasta is slightly past al-dente, but it doesn't really bother me here especially with that extremely fiery tomato cream — it's tangy and surprisingly bold in terms of spiciness; they never seem to hold back on the chili paid here so be ready to sweat it out while finishing the pasta here. Not forgetting those succulent, juicy chicken meatballs that adds a meaty, savoury flavour that completes the entire experience, it's one of those pasta I definitely wouldn't mind having if I am craving for a simple meal while alone thinking of what to eat for dinner around Clarke Quay.
The prices raised recently but at least there are new items :,) And they have linguine ❤ The truffle taste in the pasta is there but it isn't extremely mindblowing. I would settle for their turkey bacon carbonara with linguine instead which is cheaper.
But it really hits the spot and still yummy!
They have new items like baked rice, sea bass pasta etc! My Friend described the baked rice as kinda like a risotto and pretty generous amount of cheese!
Once Upon A Thyme caught me by surprise. It is a low key, relatively small restaurant situated at B1 of Central and offers a super worth lunch value meal which comes with a drink and soup of the day for $10.90.
I was there on Friday and the lunch deal includes turkey bacon carbonara, tomato pesto soup and earl grey lavender tea (with a top up of $1). I like the firm texture of the spaghetti & the creamy pasta sauce. However, I thought the slices of ham could be improved as it tastes more like tau ki instead of ham.
