More Reviews of good food at NOW Noodles +

I read other reviews and was very hopeful. To my dissatisfaction, this dish was too oily, the sauce used did nothing to bring out the flavors of the century egg or prawn.

I could not finish my meal.

I'm partial to coconut ice cream ^^. I like how this one tastes, it's got a refreshing subtle taste, not too overpowering ($4.80). The homemade kaya was light and went well with the ice cream and peanuts. Nice!

Weekday lunch set at $9.80 with a side and a drink. Satisfied my mee tai mak craving!

Heard some raving reviews about this mee tai mak, so we decided to try it out. The wok hei is quite prominent in this bowl and the taste is some what like char kway teow. In my opinion, it's very tasty, however for $9.80, its a bit pricey. Do go during lunch there is a lunch promo that gives a side and a drink at no additional cost.

Noticeable wok hei and century egg was pretty good. Rather savoury esp with the chunks of prawns, and the small amt of chili. Was it my imagination or is there a little bitterness?

Like the laksa, it's decent but lacks a punch. Luckily you can ask for extra sauce and they will happily oblige. Did i mention that their prawns are good? >

Not the usual laksa flavour but it has been adjusted to suit the dry version i guess. Not bad but lacks a punch and lacks flavour. The prawns were rlly good tho.

Dry laksa, fish noodle soup, dry meesiam and dry meetaimuk
They all tasted so-so, with the dry meetaimak standing out slightly more 😊 .. it tasted v much like (white) fried carrot cake
Slightly overpriced at $9.80 nett each

@nownoodles Mee Tai Mark with Century Egg hits just the right spots with its fragrant wok-hei and perfect balance of flavours and moisture. Will definitely go back to try their newer dishes sometime soon!

Mee tai bak with slices of fishcake, minced meat, century egg and just the right amt of chilli. Def a hidden gem for (off the radar) SG style noodles. If only they will open in the east... #sgeats #burpple #citynomads #hungrygowhere #steats

Buah Keluak Pasta (S$11.80)
Pappardelle with buah keluak, mixed with spices and minced pork, topped with an onsen egg and spring onion.
Available at @NowNoodles in @Square2SG
Interesting rich flavour, although would prefer a thicker sauce with the noodles evenly coated.

The flavours from the homemade rempah is just incredibly fragrant and adds oomph to the whole dish altogether. The fresh ingredients (I.e. Fresh prawns) gave it a thoughtful touch.

You guys need to check this place out.

If you're look for something to spice up your week, you can trust this Dry Laksa from @nownoodles to do the job. Their homemade rempah doesn't let up and hits you with full flavours a well made laksa should. I should also mention that their prawns are bought fresh daily and not the frozen kind.

Now Noodles+ is located at square 2. The mee tai mak is well-cooked but i felt that the spiciness is too overpowering. It is like all i'm tasting is the chili. It does provide that extra kick for chili lovers but it's a no-no for me as i can't handle food that is too spicy! And it tastes the same with or without the century egg. lol It is also super overpriced at $9.80. They also offer dry mee siam, vegetarian mee goreng and heng hwa noodle soup at the same price.

The thick rice vermicelli and the rich chicken broth is slurp-worthy. Each garniture is prepared individually to retain their distinctive flavours.

NOW Noodles+ is a new eatery located at Novena, Square2. They now serve 5 different signature noodles with local flavours done in a different style.

Unfortunately, costing $9.80 a plate, the portion was really small and presentation disappointing. The dish is spicy, but the taste of the dish was overall flat and sadly not satisfying. Major sigh.

Get the dry mee siam (so good) instead, or if laksa is more your thing, the dry laksa at Violet Oon Singapore still wins hands down. Points given for using fresh, non-frozen prawns tho. #burpple

Now, this was the last to arrive, and was undisputedly the best of the lot. Like the feisty yet charming sister of the robust Dry Laksa, this Dry Mee Siam instantly won us over with its tangy flavours, perked up with tamarind and infused into the springy strands of beehoon. Simple, yet mouthwateringly good.

The Heng Hwa Soup Noodles was sold out when we were there at 6-ish for dinner, so we ended up ordering all three dry-style noodles, which might be an overkill, especially if you can't stomach that much spice.

This was something special; who would've thought that century egg could also work well with noodles? The creamy yolk formed the perfect foil for the chewy mee tai mak, stir-fried in a rempah redolent of spice and hae bee hiam. I liked that it carried a hint of smokiness, and had great textures and flavours from the generous smattering of ingredients – squid, mushrooms, egg, and spring onion.

The best part of this was its flavourful rempah, packing a robustly spicy punch, but somehow let down by the limp, slightly overcooked noodles, which could also have benefited from a little wok hei. Get the dry mee siam (so good) instead, or if laksa is more your thing, the dry laksa at Violet Oon Singapore still wins hands down. Points given for using fresh, non-frozen prawns tho.
