A new addition to the list of Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand this year in 2023, Soon Huat Prawn Noodle is one of the popular stall in this food centre.

Queue usually formed in the morning for their authentic prawn noodle, which available in both dry or soup version. There’s also pork ribs version as well.

Simple meal with tasty soup. Enjoyed much of the ingredients like the peeled prawn, fish cake and pork.

May not seem like much, but this fishball noodle stall (汕源潮州粿条麵) really impressed me. I upsized my portion from $3 to $4, and I'm greeted by a huge bowl of chewy noodles that coated with an extremely satisfying chilli paste that has huge flavour from the pork lard. The soup also consist of a generous variety of ingredients that were very fresh. That includes pork liver slices that I don't usually eat, but theirs was not grainy but chewy and only has a mild liver taste. Definitely something I crave when I am around the area!

Nian Gao is glutinous rice cake, often seen during Lunar New Year period. 3 in 1 is niao gao sandwiched in yam & sweet potato. Had this snack often because my grandma made when I was young but didn’t know it’s actually a thing. It’s always warm when I bought from the store, my new favourite snack

The “Chye Tow Kway” at #01-103 has been in operation for about a month but it isn’t opened by a new hawker. In fact the middle-aged couple running it was selling “Kueh” and drinks at this same stall before. But according to them, about twenty years ago, they had sold fried carrot cake too.
I decided to order a plate after spying a customer waltzing past me with their #chyetowkway. It made sense to get the 2-in-1 ($5) as I could try both the black and white styles at the same time. I was really quite pleased with how it turned out because the fundamentals I care about were satisfied. First and foremost, this stall’s “kway” or carrot cake, is very soft (I am not into the firm style personally). Secondly, they are generous with the garlic of which I am a fan. #thereisnosuchthingastoomuchgarlic
Taste is subjective of course, so I guess the easiest way to know if you like a dish enough is whether you would order it again. And for this, I definitely would.

Very fresh steam fish and the price is absolutely no where to find!
All for just $12. Very big chunk of fish meat and it is not over steam. No fishy smell most importantly. A must go to stall when u visit the hawker!
