More Reviews of good food at Nadai Fujisoba Ni-Hachi

Fujisoba which is Japan’s number one soba restaurant, is located at 100AM Mall Tanjong Pagar.

I remember its Deep-Fried Soba with Sizzling Seafood Spicy Sauce, which is like shen mian but Japanese style.
While ramen arteries are very popular here, it is hard to find one that specialised in Soba and does it well.
Loved its food there, but unfortunately.... oh well.

One of the heartiest soba I’ve had in a while! The rich broth was flavourful but not surfeiting, which made me feel like I could finish slurping the whole bowl and be guilt-free.

There were some hits and misses with the tempura. Some were crunchy while others were soggy. Nevertheless, this was our second visit and we were still very pleased with the quality of the soba and service.

SO-BA-D! This soba comes with a D rating, and unsurprisingly tastes SO BA-D! The noodles were too hard too have it on it’s own. Yes, you could soften it with the broth from the bowl of piping hot duck meat and duck meatball soup but it’s way too salty after the soak. The duck meat was overcooked and therefore tasted tough. It was my first time tasting a really gamey duck too! Never had a duck leaving such a bad taste in my mouth. Not sure if it’s real duck meat or a quack! Pun intended. As for the duck meatballs, it’s no different in taste from minced pork balls. Perhaps they’re minced pork instead of duck meat since there was, thankfully, no gamey taste to the meatballs. Am pretty sure this isn’t worth $16++. Never coming back to this place again!

One of the few places I go to for my soba fix!

A mouthful to order given its long name, the Special Truffles Dashi Maki Tamago with Crab Japanese Sauce may be an item that probably makes less sense in English given how broken the name sounds, but certainly worth the order here.

Liked how one could feel the layered Tamago here; a rarity given how most Tamago usually have a more fluffy and spongy texture less the layering — speaks well of its execution. The infusion of truffle helps to give the Tamago a slight earthiness; not overwhelming like those of truffle fries, but just a whiff to provide a slight contrast to provide another dimension of flavours subtly. Drenched with the "Crab Japanese Sauce", the sauce carried its own sweetness and is pretty umami on its own, and pairs well with the Tamago, with bits of crab meat to chew on for added texture and flavour. A great side to order to share across the table; something which we could not get enough of.

I must say this was really good texture wise. Definitely will be back for more.

The crispy and warm ones weren't fantastic. Tamago was good but probably not worth the price. Was it supposed to have truffle?

Promo item I think. The kakiage has a different frying style from usual kakiage, so it's interesting.

Limited time only. Like the soba in this restaurant, ain't the bowl huge? It has the usual suspects, but the specials are soft-shell crab, crab stick and a corn sushi deep-fried. They make the tendon worthwhile, not the stingy salted egg sauce drizzled over.

Excited to try this because I’ve never been to soba specialty restaurants in Singapore. The soba had sort of a whole-wheat texture, which made it slightly harder. This helped to prevent it from being soggy in the hot soup! The soup base was salty but they provided a flask filled with bonito stock so you can adjust the saltiness. Price is quite steep imo but it is a place worth trying, if you want something different from the thousand ramen shops in the area.

We tried the dry sukiyaki maze soba ($15) and the Kamo nanban tsuke soba ($16)
Worth the visit for the soba on promo although quite a few dishes were unavailable

For sides we got the tamago which felt less fragrant than before and the agedashi tofu

There was a one-for-one promotion for soba at this restaurant at 100AM. You can change the soba for udon at no cost at all... The soba was delicious with a nutty aftertaste, and the portion was satisfying and filling even though there was no meat. I had an enjoyable meal!

Nadai Fujisoba’s celebrating their 2nd year anniversary with a whole list of 1 for 1 soba dishes, available only till 29th Nov!!! We went for this Hot NI-HACHI Tempura Soba and it was very worth it. We paid just $11+ each! It had a bowl of hot soba with snap peas and a plate of freshly fried tempura - okra, pumpkin, snow crab stick, shiitake mushroom, baby corn, chicken and two shrimps. We’ve been back to Nadai Fujisoba a couple of times and the quality has remained well. Soba has a good bite and the dashi broth is comforting without being too salty. The plate of tempura were pretty impressive too, ingredients were fresh and the batter was crispy yet light. My favs were the tender chicken and crunchy shrimps!

A Japanese restaurant well known for their handmade soba which was establish in 1966. They recently introduced a much affordable set meal that comes with a soba (hot or cold), Japanese pickles, crispy sakura ebi, fresh cut fruits and a mini donburi.

I ordered the hot soba which comes in a really big bowl. I got the unagi don which the whole set pretty satisfied. $18++

Was looking for a warm bowl of noodles on a rainy day and decided on this bowl that comes with sukiyaki beef and a poached egg. Soba was good without being too soft. The broth was tasty, albeit a little salty, but bonito broth is provided by the side to dilute the soup so all was good!

The truffle tamagoyaki is a definite must try. Although i wish the egg was a tad more runny. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Soba was okay for us. Soup was of a typical bonito broth for me while M had the duck broth. Unique though. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In case you missed the first liner, gyudon was obviously and definitely the winner. Soft melt in mouth beef accompanied by a rich savory sauce. The best kind of unexpected.

Not sure if this is new or we have just never noticed it on the menu before, so we got a bowl of it on top of our usual hot tanuki soba! The refreshing cold version had springier, slightly harder noodles than the hot, and we liked the combination of them with the crunchy sakura shrimps and punch from the wasabi. Would have liked more sauce to come with it though!

Will definitely come back here for soba and I regret to say it’s quite difficult to eat soba anywhere else now in SG 😅 The noodle consistency and texture is just right to keep you wanting more!
