More Reviews of good food at Niche Savoureuse

The cafe is known for their artisanal bakes while also serving quality coffees and brunch food. Being a cafe in a HDB neighbourhood, the exterior of Niche Savoureuse stands out compared to the neighbouring stores. It is the only store with a beautiful rustic look - wooden storefront with large glass window. You can’t help but peer in to have a look at what is going on inside.

Nested within the heartland at the Caldecott/Braddell area, Niche Savoureuse specialises in artisanal cakes, although they do serve main-course items such as pastas as well! We ordered a hazelnut latte to start and we were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful latte art, as well as by the generous serving of the drink (the cup was nearly overflowing!). The roasted nutty taste of hazelnut was pretty pronounced, although we were glad that it wasn't too overpowering. It is a pretty comforting drink to start your meal at Niche on a rainy day! 😁

Neither good nor bad; a safe choice to dine at if you’re around the area and just wanna have a quick brunch fix!

It was a simple flat white that gave me the caffeine kick I needed for the rest of the day!

It was a simple plate of waffles with scrambled eggs and honey bacon strips. I loved that the waffles were crispy and light. The whole dish felt very homely in a good way, and the cosy environment also helped to elevate the dish.

Delicious cup of latte. Not too sweet and it was exactly what I needed on a rainy day. Really liked the internal decor and vibes of this small cosy cafe. Such a great find!

A good range of desserts and nice spot in the heart of Braddell

$6.9 cheesecake from Niche! this place is right next to where creamier used to be & has a nice cosy ambience. just nice to satisfy my cheesecake craving 😋

3pm is coffee time for me. And I’m just pretty happy that there’s a coffee shop near my place. It’s not usually very crowded but there’s still a handful of customers who visit them for tea break and desserts. I think the only drawback is the lack of free wifi? I guess that’s to prevent people from studying at the cafe. Other than that, I’d visit this place for a quick coffee fix.

I like 🐣

Tgt with the mildly sweet strawberry mousse & strawberry preserve, it tasted light & refreshing. Berry-licious! 🍓

Yknow what sets this little cafe apart from the rest?? The fact that the dude who runs this place is always coming up with new creations!! In the spirit of Christmas, they’ve come up with this delightful apple tart that is totally unlike anything else I’ve tried. I’ll try my best to describe it; the top gelatinous-looking layer actually better resembles apple-flavored sorbet, with chunks of the real fruit hidden within! Below that lies a sponge, almond mousse and then a biscuit base. The whole amalgamation creates quite a novel and refreshing taste! If anything, the only gripe I have is that the components don’t really mesh well physically with each layer separating as my fork cuts through :-( But this truly is quite a unique dessert, and healthy to boot as there’s no added sugar since all the wetness comes from cold pressed apple juice!

Found the most exquisite cakes in this hidden gem! Black Diamond, happily, reminded us of the inimitable G Spot by Patisserie G. The rich chocolate mousse packed a punch but the cake was missing some crunchiness. We also tried their Tiramisu (not pictured), which had the softest mascarpone layer and struck the perfect balance between bitter and sweet. In sum, this bakery was an absolute delight: rustic, traditionalist, nothing too fancy or pretentious about their cakes. Been back twice, will be back again.

🏅 8/10 (Black Diamond)
🏅 9/10 (Tiramisu)
💭 MUST TRY more than once!

Assorted slice cakes
🍰 Red velvet cake

🍰 Mango tango - mango with passion fruit

🍰 Diamond black - chocolate with rum

🍰 Nuts about you - Nuts and peanut sauce

Homemade cake, freshly baked.
Worth trying 💚💚💚

☕️Matcha latte
- Smooth taste
- Non sweetened

This is really Matchy with cakes🍰

Enjoy your drink☕️

Gruyere powerful, cured salmon firm and briny, fitting the woody Savour of the mushrooms that accompany it. Haven't had a good CM for a while, so good to find a source...

This was actually the reason why we headed to Niche Savoureuse for desserts — to try their Nyonya 3-Layered Kueh which seems to be served only on weekends.

Think of this as their twist to the Kueh Salat; the top layer is still Pandan Custard, while the middle lies a mix of tapioca, sweet corn, cream and coconut milk and the bottom is a layer of orange sweet potato kueh. The result was a pretty interesting twist; the top layer providing that familiar Pandan flavour without being overly sweet while the middle layer tasted pretty much of coconut milk though with a more fibrous texture due to the input of other ingredients. The bottom sweet potato adds a distinct sweetness to the Kueh which made it feel pretty natural as opposed to adding excessive amounts of sugar to the Pandan Custard layer. The only gripe was that the texture could be improved on; the Pandan Custard layer often fell off from the bottom two layers when cut, and the bottom layer could be a little bit more moist for a more coherent texture. Still, it is a very interesting twist to the Kueh Salat that works great if you are looking for something that is unlike the usual cake if in the area.

Hadn't been visiting Niche Boulangerie in a while, and decided to head down after lunch since there was a direct bus there anyway. The Strawberry Cheesecake is actually pretty decent for its $6.50 price tag — creamy, smooth and luscious cream cheese layer topped with strawberry gel atop; lightly tart but exuding much of the berry flavour without being overly sweet. Within the cheesecake are also slices of strawberry, while all of it sits atop a graham cracker base to induce a cookie-like texture and flavour underneath.

Scrambled Eggs, Smoked Sausage, Bacon, Shrooms & a slice of our Toasted Pannetone Sweetbread made fr Natural Yeast. the REAL deal lasagne - minced pork loin slow cooked in a tomato & mushroom red wine sauce; layered with béchamel, mozzarella & parmesan.
