Went to try the army stew after seeing some online reviewsāŗļø Priced at $29.90, it feeds 2-3 people and has the basic ingredients to all army stewsšš» Wouldnt say its super mindblowing and all but for the price, it is a decent army stewš
Wouldnt mind going back to eat it again when I crave for army stewš
For Halal certified Budae Jjigae, you can now visit selected outlets of NeNe Chicken to get your fix! Available at Hougang Mall, Bukit Panjang Plaza and Junction 8, itās great comfort food for sharing between 2-3 pax.
Iāve got to say, thereās something about those thick, QQ instant noodles thatās just so addictive with the salty, spicy army stew. While the broth got a little salty towards the end and the ingredients are the typical army stew offerings, it really is one of the most affordable ones out there that I wouldnāt mind paying for.
[Tasting, Halal] Nene Chicken finally has added their own version of the Budae Jjigae (aka Korean Army Stew) to their arsenal of Korean comfort food items! I had the opportunity of trying it with some Burpplers the other day, and itās safe to say that this was pretty decent.
Theyāve played it safe with the execution here by keeping things as authentic to the original idea as possible. Nothing boujee, nothing fancy ā in fact, it retains the classic soul-warming instant food feel with ingredients like thick instant noodles, chicken luncheon meat, chicken sausage, rice cakes and tofu. I must mention a salient point though - this stew wasnāt as spicy as Iād expected. Iām not the most tolerant of spicy foods, so imagine my surprise and excitement upon realising I was able get past the 6th spoonful?! šš¤¤ Of course, I eventually succumbed to it when I had a brainburn (opppsite of brainfreeze) moment towards the end of the tasting hahaha.
Anyway, their army stew is only available at three outlets: Hougang Mall, Bukit Panjang Plaza and Junction 9 (come 22 Feb). Nene Chicken is MUIS Halal-Certified, so thereās one more place for you and your Muslim pals to get your fix of this iconic Korean dish! š¤© (7.3/10)

Rejoice thereās another place to enjoy Korean Army Stew thatās also Halal, great for gathering a few friends to chat as you wait for the Stew to boil. Consisting of numerous standard items like chicken franks, white cabbage, mushrooms, tofu, kimchi, rice cakes and luncheon meat. Oh that luncheon meat is thick cut, quite shiok! Chilli paste is on the top and if you worry about the spiciness you may scoop away a portion and slowly add back to get the right taste. Btw the chicken stock is refillable and itās free! Adding one more pack of Korean instant noodle is only $2.50! If the group is still hungry can always order the fried chicken too. Army Stew only available at Hougang Mall, Bukit Panjang Plaza & available soon at Junction 9

Thank you @burpple & @nenechickensg for Hosting
At $29.90(free refillable soup!) for 2-3 pax, NeNe Chickenās take on the beloved Budae Jjigae is definitely worth trying! I love their thick cut luncheon meat, and the springy noodles. Though the soup is a little salty, the mix of flavours from the gochujang, kimchi, and baked beans really add to the overall satisfying dish.
*this was an EatUp invitation hosted by Burpple and Nene Chicken
this took some time to cook as they just pour water right in front of u and it takes time to boil and cook e ramen(1 packet). the pot has many ingredients - rice cake, tofu, hot dog, luncheon meat, cabbage, kimchi, mushroom, korean tanghoon (alot), slice of cheese)
we didnt request for the free refill as it was enough and we were worried it will just be water. haha
One comment, they gave us paper bowls to eat in which kinda feels ... how to say... like e paper bowl will become soggy...
