More Reviews of good food at Mrs Pho (Bussorah)

Our repeat visit to Mrs Pho Bussorah as their grill items are really good, in particular the Iberico Pork & the Mummy Meat Balls which are outstanding, they do the char & seasoning just the right way we like. We order the Beef Pho & Com Tam which are the commonly known dishes locally. Overall, if not for the tiny table for two which is squeezing, the overall experience is good place for a non frill eatery for quick fix of Vietnamese Street Food.

We try the 2 signature dishes, Lemongrass Pork Chop Rice & Dry Vermicelli with Spring Roll, Meat Ball & Lemongrass Pork Chop plus few grill items - Iberco Pork Belly, Fermented Bean Curd with Asparagus, Mama Meat Ball & King Mushroom. All items are nicely prepared, tasty & homey. Portion are generous too. Pleasant environment after the restaurant moved to Bussorah Street. Will return.

Mrs. Pho opened its first outlet at Beach Road in 2014, and they have now relocated to Bussorah Street, a mere 3 minutes’ walk away, with a revamped menu and concept. This new outlet will feature the same hearty Vietnamese favourites such as phở and bún thịt nướng, and more than 20 specialty Vietnamese charcoal grilled street-side snacks, of which seven of them are exclusive here. To commemorate the reopening of the Bussorah outlet, from 3 to 18 November 2021, diners can enjoy 1-for-1 grilled and skewer items, with purchase of 1 main from the classics section. This promotion is exclusive to the Bussorah outlet and is not valid with other promotions, discounts, and/or vouchers.

The seven outlet-exclusive grilled items include the Japanese Shiitake Mushroom ($3.90) that has been glazed with a ginger sauce, Vietnamese Street-Styled Corn ($3.90), Mamma’s Impossible Grilled Meat Skewer ($7.90), a plant-based skewer that has been marinated with lemongrass, shallots and peppercorn, Spicy Grilled Chicken ($4.50), Spicy Chicken Banh Mi on Grill ($7.90), Mountain Style Beef on Skewers ($7.90) and lastly, the Grilled Pork Breast in Vietnamese Style ($7.90) with a fermented beancurd sauce marinate.

In addition, there are other grilled items in the menu that you can get from other Mrs. Pho outlets such as the Honey Glazed Chicken ($3.90) that has been brined in lemongrass and coated in longan honey before being grilled, Iberico Pork Belly ($5.90), Lemongrass Beef Sticks that has been seasoned with mắc khén pepper and seafood items like Barbecued Goby Fish ($9.90), Tiger Prawns ($12.90), Baby Octopus ($14.90), Mussels ($14.90) and Scallops ($15.90), cooked in spring onion oil and crushed peanuts.

Mrs Pho Dry Noodle Combo ($13.10)

It wasn’t bad. But it wasn’t that great to me either, although I’m aware it’s a very popular Vietnamese cuisine place. Felt like it was kinda pricey for this.

Maybe Vietnamese food is just not my thing cos I’ve never really liked it. Drinks were also quite pricey so we didn’t order any drinks.

Setting/ ambience was not bad though, they did try to make it authentic.

Wouldn’t choose to come back but don’t mind coming back if friends want to visit.

simple hearty bowl of noodles. soup was light but tasty, and they were really generous with the amount of chicken! would be nice if the chicken was seasoned a little but for the price, no complaints 😊

🌟 rating: 8/10
💰 price: $10.90 nett

Rebecca her staff needs to keep her attitude in check.. The pho beef is not fresh at all... Not returning

This is the best Vietnamese food that I ever tried, the portion is really huge for me. They gave generously on the meat so if you are meat lover, you will love it ! And if you are si hum (cockles) lover like me, u may try the Vietnamese style cockles - Super nice.

After my backpacking trip in Vietnam, I have extremely high expectations of this noodle soup which is my ultimate favourite vietnamese dish. Initially thought they served the wrong dish up as I expected the broth to be of a more reddish hue. Not the best I had in So far but would be a more satisfying meal if there’s more noodles.

Will be back to try their phos next.

Feature PHỞ BÒ ĐẶC BIỆT, Special beef combination nooddle soup.
The broth is light with beefy flavoured, served with tender beef brisket and beef balls.
💰$9.9

Bun Ho Hue/ Spicy beef noodles soup ($9.90++):
Soup is just very slightly spicy. The noodles are cooked just right. The beef meat is slightly tough today. Beef balls are well marinaded and bouncy. Overall, still quite a decent bowl of noodles soup

Super love this!!

Tasty and delicious marinated pork meatballs! And goes well with the sauce!

Really tasty soup that seems like they didn’t add msg. Sweet and savoury at the same time. Generous serving of beef! One of our favourite places for Vietnamese!

$9.90 // to be honest, i felt quite meh to mild disappointment in this dish. the soup was fine and enough to satisfy my vietnamese food cravings, with the classic vietnamese flavour so can't really go wrong there (and neither should they, considering they specialize in vietnamese food!!!!). i felt like the choice of noodles (lao shu fen / thick, short white noodles) was a little weird and didnt go as well with a classic vietnamese dish (would have expected the flat rice noodles) and if they're marketing themselves as an authentic vietnamese eatery, shouldn't they remain authentic in all the components of their dish???? what was such a letdown was the ingredients!! don't call your dish a CRAB noodle soup if you are giving one or two meagre pieces of crab meat. could barely find any, and when i did, they were so tiny (about 1cm???) and the prawns added were alright, not super fresh or big and only 3 pieces. they gave 2 pieces of a pork and mushroom(?) meatball thing which i found weird since it wasn't on the menu as well, so was surprised to see it there lol. overall, either they give more ingredients, or tag the dish at a cheaper price !! (what a letdown lol)

the good thing about this place was the decor lol. sitting there made me feel like i was transported to a night market in a southeast asian country, so props for that

Vietnamese friend introduced this cozy place and it has always been my go to restaurant when I passed by for lunch or dinner. Pho, grill pork rice, vermicelli with spring rolls and mixed with their fish sauce, cockles, Vietnamese coffee and salty lemonade are all time favorite! Highly recommended!

Probably one of the nicest Vietnamese food I’ve tasted in Singapore thus far.
1️⃣ SPECIAL BEEF COMBO PHO ($9.90)
The beef and SOUP are good! 👍🏻
2️⃣ MRS PHO DRY NOODLE COMBO ($9.90)
It tastes like the Bún thịt nướng I had in Ho Chi Minh! Omg I missed it so much and I couldn’t find something similar in Singapore. Whoots!
.
☹️But UPSET cus the cockles were sold out - the reason why I came here in the first place! But it’s alright then, will be back again especially for that!
.
Tips: don’t order the Mrs Pho Summer ice tea cus it tastes like herbal tea/liang cha LOL. Damn weird.

Broth was decent but have the pork quick as it might turn tough if u leave it in the soup too long. The highlight of the dish Gotta be the prawns though as they were really well seasoned and has a prawn-paste texture.

Chicken Pho ($7.90+):
Broth is light and after adding a little lime juice and chilli sauce into the broth, it taste heavenly!

Rice Vermicelli with Grilled Pork:
Comes grilled pork, spring roll and also pork balls. Goes well together with their sour and spicy sauce, vermicelli and cucumbers

Haha okay I admit horrible pun but it’s really such a good bowl for anyone who’s looking for authentic delicious pho that’s healthy too!! Tried the yam spring rolls as well and I loved it. Definitely going to be my recommended place for pho from now on!

Not gonna lie, haven't had much Pho or had authentic Vietnamese Pho before either. But this special beef combination noodle soup (9.90) naturally felt like great Pho to me.

The broth was a very gentle and transparent tasting one, light but still containing a good dose of sweetness and umami from the spices and the beef. The noodles were springy and soaked up the broth well, and the beef ingredients were all cooked to a nice tenderness.

I couldn't really find any fault with this Pho, and it was just a wholesome and hearty meal.
