This lives up to the hype. Especially loved the fluffy basmati rice, as well as the uniquely sweet and savory blend of the chilli.

However, it suffered a resounding defeat by International Muslim Food Stall today after trying both side-by-side. For starters, the basmati coconut rice was lacking in aroma and flavour, while the sambal was too sweet for my liking. Comparing both fried eggs, Mizzy Corner did not fare as well as the yolk was fried till it was fully cooked while International had a runny yolk. In terms of the fried chicken, both had its strong points, so none had any sort of advantage or leverage.

The basmati rice has a nice coconut flavour while the sambal is of a sweeter side, hence if you prefer the spicier version, this might not appeal to you. The peanuts and anchovies are well fried and crispy, and I will usually add on a banana leaf otah to my meal. The only let down this day was the fried chicken as you can only taste the marinate on the crispy skin, beyond that, the meat inside is practically tasteless. It was probably an off day for them as I remembered how flavourful their fried chicken wings were in the past. Nonetheless, as this stall is around my neighbourhood, I will probably drop by at another time to check out the quality and consistency.

Chicken wing set (chicken wing, ikan bilis, egg): $3.50

Loved the super fragrant rice. Plus points as they use basmati rice so you can enjoy each grain instead of a large clump of rice like some other stalls.
Chili also was nice and sweet, but could have had more kick.

Had higher expectations of the chicken wing especially after tasting the rice, but felt that it was lacking in marination.

They use basmati rice instead of white rice, the chilli is more to the sweet side type of chilli.
The highlight is the chicken. It tasted like Indonesia yellow fried chicken that cooked with tumeric.
💰$ 4-5 (coz I added begedil).

[this is part 3 of 3 (or tinder date 3 out of 3) where i went to three different nasi lemak stalls in a day, please visit the profile for more reviews. i don’t actually use tinder 🤪]

third stop, third Tinder date of the day. at this point i am tired. will i ever find love? this guy Mizzy… he wears uniqlo… his fashion sense, similar to the many side dishes on this plate, is remarkably average.

however, once he started talking, wowwwwwwww. i feel like we have great chemistry, just like the rice and chilli combining into a beautiful mess of mixture that i don’t know how to describe. oh goodness. he has the best personality so far. he has such a perfect balance of sweetness and hotness. he is such a great kisser (don’t ask me how i know 🌚) - just like the rice the kiss is so soft and tender.

such a great date, and the day ended well i am so happy. i cannot wait for the second date. i think i found the love of my life.

10/10 would come back and kiss him again.
