Has that chocolate bitterness to the crisy waffle. Actually want to have it with ferrero ice cream but getting a mint one. That cooling taste of the mint is a nice touch tho 4/5

Such a steal as they are having 50% off all items currently! Simply like and share their picture on facebook to get a membership. We had the lava toast with speculoos sauce(inside) and ferrero rocher ice-cream. (Premium flavour so top-up 50cents) They don't allow sampling of ice-cream though. The toast was crisp and had lots of sauce and speculoos butter inside and went really well with the ice-cream. There was pink frosting on the side, with colourful sprinkles, cereals, and chocolate sauce drizzled all over the plate. There was even an ice-cream cone-super aesthetic, and very value-for-money!

Tasted this plate of Speculoos Melt Toast($13.90)@ Scape! Indeed a plate of aesthetically plated dessert! .
Toasted bread comes with a free choice of Ice Cream with a caramel dressing with marshmellow, cream, chocolate sweets and cereals scattered on the dish plate!
.
Definitely an instagram-able plate of dessert for sweet tooth individuals!

Lava Toast (S$15.90)
Served with a scoop of ice cream
Available at @MeetAndMeltScape in @ScapeSG
Topup S$0.50 for charcoal ice cream which was listed as premium.
One could also topup S$1 to upgrade to charcoal toast.
The toast was served pipping hot, with smoking hot steam coming out as one cut it opened. The salted egg sauce flow out easily like lava. The toast was light and crispy and cut through easily.

A new variation joining @meetandmeltscape selection of lava toasts - the Speculoos Charcoal Lava Toast ($15). ๐Ÿ˜‹ Boasting a playground of colours, this gaudy, kaleidoscopic creation has plenty of bite-size sweets to boot, on top of a cube-shaped charcoal toast.

Make an incision and split it a little, and watch the molten Speculoos cookie butter ganache lava ooze out of the chink. Not only are you in for a feast, but so are your pair of eyes! ๐Ÿ˜

Owner Mr. Chan shared the dichotomy of opinions that resulted from two separate generations of people who have tried this, "Usually, the older people complain that the toast is too sweet. But the younger people they like stronger and sweeter flavours. The sweeter, the better."

In that sense for dessert parlours, striking a balance can be quite the challenge. But that doesn't dampen their drive and passion to keep concocting desserts that ignite the excitement of many individuals with a sweet tooth. And they also maintain that family business vibe, as Mr. and Mrs. Chan stand out from the much slew of youths that *SCAPE usually attracts. This comforting and endearing feeling is translated to their desserts, which results in a experience that will leave you with a smile (hopefully) by the end.

As always, I had a wonderful time reconnecting with the people and the owners here. I'm already hungry and excited to know the next thing they have to offer! ๐Ÿ˜‹ (7.9/10)

The smell wafted to our table before it even reached us ๐Ÿ˜‚ And the staff torched it right in front of us, making me even more excited to dig in hehe. It can get quite gelat though, so even though it's a savoury item, it's advised to share with someone. :)

Was totally spoilt for choice because they have sooo many flavours for their specialty lava toast! Heard that they just launched this flavour and since I LOVE speculoos (aka the cookie sauce from llaollao), we went with this. The sauce was quite watery and not as thick as what we'd hoped... (Was too excited to start eating after cutting it open hence no photo HAHA.) But anything speculoos is gooood hahaha. And their toast is really crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy inside!! ๐Ÿ˜‹

Oh oh, they're having a half price promo on all items for this month! I'm definitely going back to try the other lava toasts hehe ๐Ÿ˜‰

Mentaiko sauce is too rich, but the combination of the sweetness of the gula melaka ice cream neutralises the creaminess of the sauce, both on the inside and outside (topping). The fishiness of bonito flakes gives an interesting twist to the taste.

Signature thick buttered toast topped with speculoos drizzle (YES, it's just like the cookie sauce in llaollao๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–) served with a scoop of cookies&scream ice cream by default. A change of ice cream flavour is possible if you are not a fan of cookies&cream, which I did and chose Thai green tea and added an extra scoop of earl grey. Whats mor, thenfriendly owner even added an extra scoop of speculoos ice cream (without me knowing๐Ÿ™ˆ) to the toast which no doubt was a perfect complement to the speculoos toast ๐Ÿ’–. That means, triple scoops of delight to my toast!๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹The toast was once again, done to a consistent standard with an ideal crisp exterior that executes a perfect crunch factor, as well as a soft, pillowy and well buttered interior. The Thai green ice cream was my favourite among all (no surprise๐Ÿ˜†), with a lingering aromatic floral fragrance and a distinctive earthy note. On the other hand, the earl grey flavour is also a delight to my palate, with its subtle lingering aroma and a distinctive, characteristic tea flavour (which I do not mind it being more intense๐Ÿ˜…). Fans of speculoos would love this toast (which I did since I am one) with the caramelised, luscious flavour of the cookie butter sauce and the ice cream! On a sidenote, I really fancy and appreciate the fact that the toast is intricately plated and decorated with little confectionaries, providing a kaleidoscopic feast for the sight๐Ÿ˜.

the matcha lava reminds me of thai green milk tea rather than matcha, and the earl grey ice cream tastes nothing like tea lol. I wouldn't come back anytime soon....?

Really fancy the toasts here which are always consistent in texture- an ideal crisp exterior and a soft, pillowy interior that comes with a lingering buttery fragrance. The earl grey lava was thick and creamy, with a luscious milky flavour that comes with a subtle lingering earl grey flavour and aroma. As a hardcore earl grey fan, I would prefer if the earl grey flavour was more distinct though! The Thai milk tea ice cream that I had chosen to pair with was smooth, creamy, a melt-in-the mouth texture with a distinctive Thai tea flavour and fragrance, though it might get a tad too sweet for some.

This hazelnut honey toast sure hits the sweet spot for me! I loved it! The aunty is always so friendly despite it being 20 minutes to closing time on a Tuesday night.
๐Ÿ˜˜
It's quite sad to see this place so empty nowadays, walked by it several times on weekdays and weekends. Charging a few cents for wet tissue and cutlery isn't the norm but I guess Meet & Melt does what they can to run a business.
๐Ÿ˜˜
Overall I think the hype has died down but the desserts are still good! Do check them out at scape!!! Or the tampines outlet which is having a 30% discount in the month of April, check out their fb page ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

SCAPE branch: Popular dessert shop @meetandmelt with a wide array of insta-worth desserts! Famous for their lava toasts, ice creams and dessert drinks. Didn't enjoy it and felt that it was way overrated. I think due to the hype, was expecting much better but was left disappointed. Prefer to spend my calories on smth else instead.

Rating: 4/10

Will i return/recommend: No/No

Pros: The toast is not oily and lava filling isn't too sweet. Ice-cream was rich and strong in flavour!

Cons: Long-waiting time. From the raves, i was expecting better toast - more crisp and buttery. This was thick and chewy. The lava filling was too diluted and watery. Ice-cream i had was delicious but extremely sweet. In fact one of the sweetest i've had in awhile. Staffs are youngsters - impatient type.

Price: S$14.90 (?) Thai milk tea toast and sauce with dark choc ice cream

Not only is it making your feed nice, it also taste as good as it looks!! Although priced at 16.90, but a definite YES to you to give it a go. The unique waffles and design with nicely decorated plate and I'll sure return for it!!

Best mentaiko dish! However, advice to share it between two person!
