itâs nice but why was the patty only half-coated??
Went by McDonaldâs and saw their latest release of the Yubari Melon Cone which got me really intrigued to try, considering how it isnât everyday that McDonaldâs does release a soft-serve flavour that is based off what is perceived as a premium Japanese produce which makes this release pretty interesting for me.
Whilst some of their limited time-only soft serves are not quite something that would be tuned towards my preferences, I was pretty glad that the Yubari Melon Cone didnât disappoint. Coming in a light orange hue, the Yubari Melon soft-serve comes nothing short of what was expected â a soft-serve that carried notes of cantaloupe with its distinct sweetness; all that with a being smooth and creamy with a clean finish. Liked how there wasnât any weird or bitter aftertaste with this one, considering how such melons do carry a slightly bitter undertone behind the sweetness. The Yubari Melon soft-serve also didnât melt too quickly; the consistency being fairly similar to that of the usual vanilla soft-serve.
For those who have been following for a while, one might recall that I am pretty fond of McDonaldâs Purple Sweet Potato Waffle Cone previously â while the Yubari Melon Cone comes less artisanal in comparison due to the use of the standard cone as opposed to the waffle cone of the former, the Yubari Melon Cone does come as a favourite to me as well; perhaps second to that of the Purple Sweet Potato Waffle Cone considering there seems to be more creativity there than with the Yubari Melon Cone in general. That being said, I do find the Yubari Melon Cone being a standout to the other limited time-only soft-serve creations that McDonaldâs has come out with in recent times; one that I would return to have again!

Spicy McNuggets ($3.70)
Omg as soon as I heard this seasonal item menu was back I had to get it! Like letâs get real, personally Iâm not a fan of the typical McNuggets (theyâre plain & ordinary). But this, is a miracle. The spicy McNuggets have this beautiful reddish orange crust and the taste rlly gives me a kick. Itâs salty and spicy, everything I want in my comfort fastfood! I honestly wish they made this a permanent menu item cuz these are rlly solid winners in my book hehe â€ïž

Minion Potatoes ($2.55)
I can probably count myself lucky cuz when I got these they were piping hot, and I could tell they were fresh out of the fryer. And ooh it was great. The potatoes had a rlly thin crunchy crust, and the insides were insanely soft and warm. I will say that these remind me of wedges, except that there arenât potato skins. Itâs such a change up from the typical shoestring fries you get at McDonaldâs and it is so worth it!

Yuzu Cream Cheese Pie ($1.95)
The yuzu pie actually surprised me. I bit into it expecting the yuzu jam to have a sharp sourness to it, but it was a rounded citrus flavour, sweet while maintaining an appropriate sourness. I couldnât really say that I tasted the cream cheese in its entirety but I will say that it definitely added to the creaminess of the pie and without it, the yuzu pie would have been rather one dimensional. The balance of cream and the jam plus the texture sort of reminded me of a pudding, and itâs sort of interesting cuz itâs like tasting a pudding but itâs hot (not cold)!! I definitely like this better than the Apple pie bcuz while McDonaldâs does make a very distinctive Apple pie, itâs quite artificial and while I can appreciate artificial flavours occasionally, it distracts from a legitimate Apple pie that has the depth of flavour (no offence Iâm just rlly picky abt Apple pies since itâs one of my prized desserts). I wonât say that the yuzu jam has a depth of flavour to it, but the accompaniment of cream cheese alrdy suggests a rounded flavour, so itâs more forgivable. That said, I do like this pie!

Would I eat it again : Most definitely to all 3!! đ„°â€
This needs no introduction. Welcome back McDonalds. I will not take comfort food for granted.
Gonna be real and said I bought this cos I love bandung and I thought this looked really pretty đŠ
.
Wasnât disappointed when I tried the Bandung Soft Serve (~$1) đ Bandung taste was evident and ice cream was quite light, lighter than the normal vanilla cone! Was slightly sweet so Iâd suggest getting the twist? .
Overall pretty worth for the price so itâs good to try
