The toast here is crisp on the outside, with a nice amount of butter and kaya. It’s an unexpectedly good place for kaya toast! The steamed bread is fluffy and yummy too, but I still prefer their kaya toast :)

Forget avocado toasts and poached eggs- nothing makes my morning like a local breakfast set does. The toasts were thin and crispy, and slathered with good ol' kaya and butter. This comes with a pair of soft boiled eggs and a choice of hot drink.

You can order a la carte toast, or a toast set. The latter comes with 2 half boiled eggs, & 1 hot coffee or tea. So this picture isn't exactly accurate cos for this picture, I swapped out the hot drink for my TEH XI BING 😍 But you get the drift.

Toast in the picture is kaya toast. Really appreciate that when I said "kaya toast", they confirmed with me if I wanted butter inside - to which I said nope. Most other places will just lump the butter inside without asking, whether you say "butter kaya toast" or "kaya toast". πŸ‘

If Telok Ayer has Ya Kun, East Coast has Chin Mee Chin and Chinatown has Tong Ah, Bukit Timah residents would have May's Kopi Bar. They had been around the neighborhood for quite some time sporting a red shop front in a coffeeshop at Anamalai Ave but the coffeeshop had been recently given a modern makeover. Here, their Kaya Toast is thin and crisp, loaded with a lot of butter that's all sinful but worth the calories. They also offer French Toasts as well as thick toasts, as well as Kaya Butter Steam Bread if the traditional kaya toast is not to your fancy.
