Tried the Chocolate Float with Matcha Soft Serve in October 2018!

I feel that Matchya has the best matcha softserve in Singapore because out of all the matcha softserves I've had so far, their softserve has the strongest matcha flavour and is not too sweet.

The chocolate taste in the drink is mild, so you may be disappointed if you like richer-tasting chocolate. I wouldn't get this again but I'd still come here for the matcha softserve!

I'm sad that Matchaya at Icon Village closed down recently, but they still have an outlet at the Cathay!

Dark chocolate tart base topped with lotsa purple goodness that was made fromsweet potato puree and chantilly cream. Subtle and fragance sweet potato taste that is not too sweet. Surprising factor was the sweet potato meat that was hidden within the tart base after when it was cut open. The topping ball was actually sweet potato too, with a small slice of white chocolate to finish off the pleasing presentation!

Very creamy and thick in flavour, a little bit gelat at the end but it was still good!

There is no other place in SG that serves Matcha soft serve as thick as Matchaya. But if you like your desserts sweet then you might find this abit too bitter for you.

The parfait comes with some red bean and some cereal as well as 2 types of mochi.

Overall a satisfying dessert and super worth especially with Beyond!!

considering that i recently went on a trip to japan, matchaya’s green tea ice cream honestly tasted better than many that i’ve tried in there. the matcha flavour is really intense and i like that it’s not too sweet! i used the burpple 1-for-1 deal, which came with drinks that i felt didn’t stand out much.

One of the most "authentic" matcha desserts I've ever tried. Unlike other "matcha" which is often too sweet, the soft serve here is the perfect combination of tea leaf's bitterness and sweetness. The jelly like mochi are more impressive than the chewy mochi since the chewy ones do not really have any signature flavour. The ricepuff is an interesting add-on at the bottom of the parfait though it can be a little too sweet when combined with red bean paste. Overall, it is worthy of the money we spend and I'm definitely coming back for more!

The mystery flavour Sakura, was indeed a mystery because I found myself wondering what it'll feel like walking through a mysterious field of Sakura and munching on the flowers.

Something so girlishly pink might as well taste sweet and that was what it was, sweet and nothing very much else. But a good complement to the macho matcha parfait. Texture was again on point.

My fav item in matchaya! The Mochi is good too. Will always go back for this!

Pardon the childishness, but the brownish grey soft serve literally looked like a pile of s*** when it was served. While all of us thought so, only one in our group blurted it out while the waitress served it to us.

Unlike the outlet at Cathay, Matchaya Icon Village has no seating area. You can, however, enjoy your desserts or drinks while standing at the Matchaya kiosk.

We ordered both the matcha soft serve and the mystery flavour soft serve - which happened to be Roasted Oolong. If you think Matchaya’s matcha soft serve is good, be prepared to be wowed. The roasted oolong soft serve is amazingly fragrant and carries the lovely roasted aroma of the tea very well. The flavour profile is more subtle than matcha, pleasantly creeping up on you and growing on you more with each bite. It’s also not too sweet, so all of us enjoyed this very much. The soft serve holds up quite well, and didn’t melt into a gooey mess. The butter biscuit stuck into the soft serve wasn’t particularly nice as it wasn’t as soft or fragrant as the Japanese butter biscuits we were used to, but it served its purpose as decoration quite well and didn’t get soggy despite prolonged exposure to the soft serve.

With Burpple Beyond, this set is extremely worth it and I would recommend heading down to Matchaya Icon Village to grab the Roasted Oolong mystery flavour before it’s gone!

As a matcha specialty shop, we had high expectations for Matchaya’s matcha soft serve. Thankfully, it didn’t disappoint. The colour of the soft serve was a rich and deep green. Unlike the more subtle Oolong flavour, the matcha soft serve was hard hitting. Each spoonful of the ice cream was like a punch of matcha, with a slight bitter aftertaste. It wasn’t too milky or sweet, just right to balance out the matcha. Will definitely satisfy matcha-holics, but won’t be the sweet treat you’re looking for if you don’t appreciate matcha! I’d rate this as a matcha level 4 against nocturne no. 5’s six matcha intensities - still ok to finish the whole ice cream by yourself without having the bitterness get to you! “That’s some good shit right there.”

Very similar tasting to the series of @matchayasg tea latte. A strong oolong taste plus sweetness that was slightly more to me than the sweetness in the matcha flavour. What levitated that oolong taste was the addition of the puffy kinako powdered warabi mochi (+$1) 😋💛🧡💛❣️ #matchayasg #oolong #burpplesg

everything in the parfait was delicious (altho I prefer the jelly like warabi mochi over the chewy shiratama mochi) and I loved how the soft serve had a strong matcha flavor and not too sweet 😍

It’s my idk what time coming here and again I was blown away by the matcha, and omg first time trying the mochi and the warabi!! The warabi is jelly like and peanut coated, so chewy!! Not the usual melt in your mouth but it went so well with the peanut powder!!
My favourite part was the rice puffs, they paired the Azuki beans and matcha so well omg I need more 1-1 on burpple😭😭

This flavor is available til end of the month coz.. any day is also Valentine's day. LOL 🌹
The soft serve has strong Bandung rose flavor like a very gao Bandung shake. This was served prettily with dried rose petals and gold flakes (requested for it).

I love their matcha soft serve. BEST MATCHA SOFT SERVE I'VE HAD IN SINGAPORE!! Totally worth full price

Didn’t use my Burpple Beyond app for this as we felt it would be too much for just the two of us. Instead, we opted to just get a green tea ice cream and ice yuzu green tea (comes hot as well). The cost was about $11 in total (note they only accept credit card payments above $10). I thought the yuzu green tea was interesting and I liked that it was naturally sweetened by the yuzu but not overly sweet and the flavours both complemented each other but yet I was able to taste both flavours individually. I was a bit disappointed by the ice cream having heard a lot about it. It has a very strong matcha taste and it’s unsweetened but personally I felt it was not creamy enough. Portions are generous for the ice cream though. I don’t think I’ll go back for the ice cream unless I am using the Burpple Beyond app where I would get a 1-1 drink and ice cream set.

Flavour wise it’s very close to Bandung, which I like. Very flavourful. Sprinkled on the top with dried rose petals for the extra bits of love. Gold flakes will only be added to the Special Valentine Rose Bouquet version. Available till end of Feb, exclusively at Icon Village outlet

This time’s mystery flavour for valentines is rose. Texture and consistency is on point as always but it just tastes like bandung so it’s not really worth it in my opinion.

🥀 Sprinkled with gold flakes & pretty dried rose petals, with a surprise layer filled with strawberries and kanten jelly, and lastly, sip on some strawberry x rose soda (champagne🥂), adds sparkle to everything! ✨ Toast to the weekend or to whatever you fancy (Valentine's Day if you must) 💖💖💖

Exclusively available only at ICON VILLAGE outlet 📌
