Places I ate with my friends and realized that it really do be about the little things in life

This place is a pretty nice, fast Korean spot to eat at if your craving for some kind of Korean flavor in cbd haha
I mean it’s not exactly like Korean bbq and it’s not very authentic but it gets the craving down 🤷‍♀️ I’m just not a very big fan of the egg tho…

This dessert was one me and my friend selected as part of a combo deal they were offering. But yeah this dessert was nice! Ngl the pancake itself is quite sweet and the Maccha sauce drenching it is quite sweet as well so I think we made the right call to have it filled with strawberries since the tangy-ness of it helps balance it out 🍓

Enjoyed this lovely yakiniku with rice and an egg omelette on top! The meat was soft and the sauce on top was really nice and savory- it’s close to a teriyaki sauce but they also added a lot of peppers to it. The rice and omelette helped from the meat being too overbearing with flavors if that makes sense lol. But this is a really filling meal so you’ll definitely feel full after this

We didn’t actually have this for dinner but you get the point. This was my first time trying Cat & the Fiddle. I got the caramel cheesecake and the bestie got the blueberry cheesecake. Honestly, I thought both were nice- they stuck true to their flavors. If you like that really sweet, heavy caramel flavor, then you’ll like the caramel. And if you like a bit lighter, more fruity sweetness then the blueberry will be great!

The marinara spaghetti was not bad for a Thursday lunch with the coworkers ✨ but the sauce was a bit underwhelming in the sense that there wasn’t that much flavor to it. But I did enjoy the pasta- it was more of like a linguine type! And the seafood was okay as well, again, it didn’t really have much flavor to it?? I guess this dish overall was okay but I feel like there are other amazing pasta dishes you can get for a cheaper price at other places. I guess this place is more catered to meats/bbq/grilling that kind of thing so I can understand why their spaghetti wouldn’t be amazing ya kno?

Considering how long I’ve been living in Singapore, it’s kinda sad how I haven’t had grilled fish until recently with my coworkers!

We got the one with green chili and I thought it was really nice! 😋 It was a nice blend of spicy but also salty(in a good way)! We also added some veggies and I had mine with a bowl of rice. It was such a delicious meal and it was filling! I’m def gonna try the other flavors with my friends 😌🤌

For the most part…it was good.
The chocolate brownie was one of those lava brownies so when you open it, chocolate oozes out. The chocolate was thick and it has a slight bitter taste to it. The ice cream was a typical matcha ice cream - it was also a bit more on the bitter side so I guess that shows you they’re quite generous with their matcha 👀
But with that being said since both the ice cream and brownie was on the bitter side, the only thing that really helped balance it out was the whip cream and fruit on the side. But the whip cream was more subtle on sweetness so I really depended on the fruits to aid with the bitterness. 😭

But that doesn’t mean it was bad! Just something to keep in mind in case you want to get this!!

Went to good ol’ Sampo and this time I got the pork gukbap. I really like this one! The soup was great and the pork was soft and nice. Absolutely crushed this dish as well as all the banchans that came along with it (as expected 🤭)

Deal used: Lunch Set (saved $32)

Decided to take one of my coworkers here for lunch since I really enjoyed it last time! This time we got the chirashi don and I really liked it except for the uni and ikura…it had such a fishy taste to it I couldn’t eat it. But everything else was great! As always, the portion was just right so I left feeling satisfied but not overly full 😗✌️

Deal used: 1-for-1 gelato single scoop

Got the raspberry lychee 🍧and my friend got the earl gray lavender! The raspberry lychee was really nice! It felt light and wasn’t overly sweet. And I think since the flavor wasn’t very ‘milky’ I didn’t feel so thirsty after (idk if anyone else gets really thirsty after having ice cream or that’s just a me thing…) but I wanna give the other flavors a shot so will try to go back!

Absolutely lovely this dish was! The salmon was tasty and the rice was really nice! I also liked the sides that came with it: salad, miso soup, and some pickled veggies. Really good proportions and a lovely vibe!

The beef pie was okayyy…about 90% was mashed potato’s and the bottom had ground beef. It’s really filling but other than that a tad bit underwhelming. Maybe this can be a dish you can share with your friends and then you guys can order another main to try (at least that’s what I’m thinking of trying to do next time haha).
