I had spicy prawn noodles with Tobiko prawn balls and added on some lala, I must say that their broth was very flavourful and service was fast as well. Do try their ngoh hiang and sotong youtiao which go very well with their chilli sauce! I would recommend coming early as their queue can get quite long.
I am used to only eating typical Nyonya dumplings so I was quite excited to try different types of dumplings here. Safe to say, I was pleasantly surprised by Joo Chiat Kim Chooās choices. I tried the Pulut Hitam Nyonya Rice Dumpling, Emperorās Rice Dumpling and the Hokkien Rice Dumpling with Salted Egg Yolk. I absolutely love how every dumpling is flavourful and packed with generous amounts of quality ingredients. š
Here are some of my thoughts on each dumpling!
Pulut Hitam Nyonya Rice Dumpling: Looks very interesting to me and I enjoyed how the dumpling tasted sweet on the outside whilst holding a good balance of flavours inside. š
Emperorās Rice Dumpling: My favourite out of the three! The ingredients in this were so generous and decadent ā I was surprised to find scallops š¤Æš¤¤ I can see why this dumpling was given its name. This dumpling is great for those who enjoy fattier meats and savoury flavours, as youād be sure to enjoy the tender slices of pork belly.
Hokkien Rice Dumpling with Salted Egg Yolk: The taste of this dumpling was a bit more savoury as compared to the rest and was quite new to me! This dumplings had leaner cuts of meat, which I think is great for those who are more health conscious. šŖ
