🦞 Red Prawn Paella ($39.78)
Perfect for seafood lovers, be prepared for a powerful umami *smack* from the sea, right in your face when this beautiful dish is served. I personally preferred to mix the sauces together with the rice as the flavours become subtler yet delicately creamy and sweeter-tasting. Felt that the paella was slightly hard to bite at times though.

🥦 Cauliflower ($21.06)
Unrelentlessly doused with manchego (sheep) cheese, it unleashed a buttery fragrance diffused in every bite. Absolutely loved the savoury charred part as it really elevated of all flavours.

🥓 Spanish Suckling Pig Belly ($37.44)
The fruity and savoury crunch from the fruits were essential to neutralise the greasiness and gaminess, though the fats were quite fragrant. Not necessarily worth the price and pretty much a miss for me.

🍋 Amalfi Lemon ($17.55)
A good balance of sweet and sour, and a perfect crunch. One of the best sponge cake I’ve had although I found this slightly too sweet. Glad that the tang helped to offset it though!

🫒 Complimentary Dessert
A surprisingly enjoyable melody of bitterness, savouriness and sweetness. The melt-in-your-mouth chocolate was paired with a perfect biscotti crunch. Particularly enjoyed the alcoholic note.

Not sure if it’s enough to warrant a second visit as the dishes were quite a hit-or-miss. That said, a first visit must be made before that could be decided right? 👀

Kimchi Jungol (Kimchi hotpot)($40.95): Packed with addictive and enjoyable kimchi tang. Obviously, no restrain was held on the kimchi serving. The diced meat was easy to bite through with a slight fatty chew. (MUST-HAVE!)

Samgyupsal (Grilled pork belly)($17.55): Beautifully grilled with crisp brown edges. Perfectly paired with the side BBQ sauce with explosive umami flavours. Missing some extra lettuce but a must-have. (MUST-HAVE!)

Nakji Dolsot (Octopus hotstone bibimbap)($15.21): It was surprisingly light on the palate despite its fragrance. Wouldn’t mind an additional dash of seasoning for a boost of flavour though. The octopus was well cooked and easy to bite through.

Tteokkbokki (Spicy rice cakes)($9.36): It provided a sufficient chew and kick, but with an awkward rice-flour like aftertaste.

Side dishes: Most of it leaned towards the sweeter side and did a good job keeping our stomachs occupied while making our gut anticipate for more. Bonus points for free-flow service!

Operated by a Korean ahjumma, you can’t say it’s not authentic horh! Kinda hoping for a bigger serving of their meat in their dishes. Prices slightly steep for the wallet but it’s market-priced for a Korean restaurant. Pretty good choice for a big-group outing though!

🫑 Stuffed bell pepper ($15.95): What I’d consider to be the star of the show. Pocketed within, meats are deeply infused with the flavours of the pepper while retaining the quintessential melt-in-your-mouth texture from the flavourful fats. Immediately transports you to a home in Russia with it’s the warmth of a home-cooked food.

🐟 Seledka (Salted Herring) ($14.90): Don’t be too taken aback from your first salty bite! This tender, cold and fatty palate is indeed an eye-opener to the cuisine. Paired perfectly with the carbohydrates, it neutralises the savouriness while providing ample warmth and sweetness to complement the herring.

🍗 Kotlety ($17.49): The mashed potato was served with an acidic tang which surprisingly works. Chicken patty although one-dimensional, had a bouncy texture alike a sausage frank. Salad has an acquired acidity which was crunchy and unlike any others.

🥟 Combo platter (12pcs) ($21.89): Our exotic entrée (main actually,) which is mainly made up of mashed potatoes and minced savoury meats, though they all taste pretty similar to me. 😅The skin is considerably more chewy compared to the conventional dumplings we’re used to! The dip has an uniquely acquired-tasting alcoholic end. 😳

Dumplings-RU intricately balances flavours on two end of the spectrum to produce exotic combinations which will undoubtedly surprise your SE-Asian tastebuds. 🙌

First bite in and you’ll definitely be able to tell that the slow braised beef was well-marinated with its deep soy umami flavours diffusing in each mouth! 🥺 I particularly liked how the beef weren’t sinew and was relatively tender with a slight chew. Rice was cooked to perfection - fluffy and well doused with sauce. 🙌
🍚
However, the yolk seemed to make the rice tad watery. 😱 I would also prefer consistency in its meat as some beef cubes were spicy while other parts weren’t. 🧐 Was also expecting a more complex flavour too as it turned out quite monotonous.
🍚
Nevertheless, it’s a decent meal with adequate serving and taste for $10++! It works perfectly as a quick-fix lunch when you’re craving for something slightly atas too. 🥳 Get the salmon bowl instead! 👌

The staff were very friendly and quickly serve us their complimentary appetizer, cold bean sprout, which I felt was not bad, with some umami flavors.
We ordered their miso mushroom noodles and we must say they are atas version of bar chor mee, just a twist with an addition of Japanese flavors like the hanjuku eggs and seaweed flakes. The servings were rather generous, a lot of mushroom slices, and your typical garnishes. The egg noodles were chewy and springy, firm to bite i wld say and with the fried shallots, they added some crunch and flavor to every bite.

I would say the gyoza would the main character. Especially the fried pierogi, I was quite surprise as the fried pierogi was really an interesting dish, stuffed w truffle potatoes, cheese and bacon, the strong truffle flavor just release inside your mouth when you take the first bite! 👍🏼 It wasn’t too jelak as well even though there are potatoes inside and the skin to filling ratio is good 😊! Would go back for their fried pierogi!! Otherwise, the original one is also a decent one, fillings weren’t too dry, they still retain that juice in the gyoza. (was salivating while typing this so yall know how good this is 😊)
🥟
If I have to picky a little, I would say their egg noodle flavor wasn’t quite well executed, there wasn’t much taste to the noodle but the sauce and garnishes saved the day.
🥟
Good ambience, super affordable lunch set and friendly staff. This has definitely won my heart over considering they are located in the CBD area.

🍚
First off, the charsiew in yours sincerely's words, melt-in-your-mouth-artery-blocking-justified heavenly goodness. It's packed with intense char fragrance with the usual charsiew-sweetness 😚👌 You know how people usually comment of how the meat is "fragrant" or "sweet"? This is the perfect epitome of what these people are talking about. The marriage of the slight chew of meat fibres and glutinous texture of the nicely cooked Japanese rice immediately teleports you to a wedding ball *plays wedding march by Felix Mendelssohn* The glaze deeply infused with charcoal aroma also adds another dimension of flavour to the rice, giving it another *OOMPH* The acidity of the pickled radish was on point and accomplishes its perfect supporting role of cutting through the greasiness of the pork.
🍚
I was borderline gonna give it a 4.8/5 but it slowly started tasting more "Jelak" towards the end of my meal due to the greasiness of the pork. Also, i would prefer more consistency to the texture and cuts as some pork slices had a 90% fat-10% meat ratio :/
🍚
Overall, i really enjoyed how the the complex layers of flavours slowly unravels itself to reveal the distinct aroma of each element. ALSO CAN WE DISCUSS HOW THIS IS $10 FOR SUCH A BIG SERVING??? It feel like a $18 worth of meal (bc it was supposed to be $17.80 before promo HAHAH
