✨Lor Mee✨
I went for the basic yellow noodles, and to my surprise, there was no alkaline taste at all! I like how they were really generous with the pork slices and the fried minced meatballs too! The pork slices were slightly too fat for my liking, but the minced meatballs were so enjoyable🤤 It has a little QQ taste, and it was still crispy after being in the gravy for a long time. However, the gravy is slightly more watery than usual, hence it felt more like a sauce than a gravy, but the flavour and ingredients taste just as delicious!

🍗Food review:
Did you know Tenderfresh started in Singapore as a way to create our own distinctive Singaporean fried chicken? Our very own local fried chicken franchise has now branched out all over Singapore! And it’s halal too😉

✨Fries with Meat Sauce, Cheese and Mayo✨
I was really surprised by how delicious this side was! I had no idea meat sauce, cheese and mayo would go so well together😍 The fries tasted like normal shoestring fries, but the sauce tasted like a cheeseburger🍔 It does get a little jelak, but eating this with the plain fried chicken is a perfect match😋

✨Half Spring Chicken✨
This was a really filling meal, especially since it was half a chicken for one person! The first bite was juicy and crispy, but when it reaches the middle, it gets a little dry and tough to chew. There wasn’t any sauce provided to add flavour either. If you want some authentic chicken with no extra flavouring added, order this! Maybe share it with a friend as it gets plain just eating one chicken for dinner🐓

✨Succulent Crispy Skin Chicken Chop✨
I actually preferred this over the famous fried chicken😜 This had a sauce for the chicken, but it is slightly watery. The chicken chop was tender and did not feel dry at all. Every meal also has a slice of garlic bread, but it was a little too soggy for me. I recommend sharing a few dishes among friends to try different kinds of chicken😚

My favourite Mala in Clementi!

This place is one of the few places that sells Halal Mala, so bring your Malay friends along!

Although there is no pork (many mala lovers’ favourite meat), the quality is not different from other mala places. In fact, the meat here is quite tender! This mala is really flavourful and cooked well. The noodles were well mixed with the sauce, retaining its springy texture as well. I recommend adding the seaweed chicken and fried chicken too! They cut up everything into small pieces for you, so you don’t have to worry about choosing the big pieces👍🏻

They cook quite fast despite the long queue, so the wait is around 10 mins🧚🏻‍♀️

✨Jia Xiang Mee (家香面)✨
The noodles are springy and I really like the little bits of minced meat, mixing both together gives a QQ taste. The meat was a little tough to chew and dry, but the soup makes up for it👍🏻 It is slightly pricey for a dish that can be found in a hawker centre. I thought that there would be something special added for it to stand out from other noodles.

✨咖啡排骨 (Pork Ribs with Coffee Sauce)✨

It is a little pricey, considering how the fish soup was only $5+ for that big bowl. The pork was really tender and chewy, plus it wasn’t dry at all! The coffee sauce also adds a little sweet and bitter flavour to it. The portion was quite generous and is good value for its price, but would like if they had other garnish or vegetables on the side.

✨炸鱼肉汤 (Fried Fish Meat Soup)✨
This is the dish I order every time I dine here (and add extra milk😙) The fish is so soft and silky! As the soup tastes quite creamy, the fish is not too heavy, hence it complements each other quite well, preventing this soup from being jelak😌 The vegetables is not the best, as it tastes a little raw and tough to chew. I recommend adding in the small chilli to give a little spicy kick for more enjoyment 😎 Also!! Put rice in your spoon and dip it in! I swear you won’t regret it🤤

💰: $5.80

✨Claypot Rice✨
This is one of the most well-known claypot rice (at least in the west😝) This claypot rice is more burnt than the other stalls I’ve tried, so it may taste more bitter. However, this also means the rice is crispier and a smokier flavour! I personally like really crispy rice so I don’t mind the charcoal taste😋They were also really generous with their tender chicken! But! The chicken came with a lot of sharp bones, which I’ve almost swallowed it a few times. It is also not as salty as I imagined it to be, probably because there wasn’t much cuttlefish in this. Overall, I recommend chewing more and eating it slowly to avoid any problems👍🏻

💰: $15 for 2 pax

✨Lotus Root with Pork Ribs Soup (莲藕排骨汤)✨

This soup pairs really well with the claypot rice as it was light, which can act as a palate cleanser while eating the claypot rice. The soup was simple and nothing special, but it felt really refreshing to be eating something else other than the rice.

✨Original Egg Tart✨
This egg tart is my favourite of all time. The crust is the cookie kind, buttery and crumbly. Also, it is not too brittle till it spills everywhere. The egg taste is not super strong and it is also not too sweet. It is a light dessert suited for all taste buds🥰

💰: $2
📈: 10/10

✨Pandan Tart✨
Honestly, I prefer this over the original flavour. It gives that sweet pandan flavour, yet not too strong, hence keeping that egg tart taste.

💰: $2
📈: 10/10

✨Durian and Cheese Tart✨
Although both durian and cheese are rich flavours, it is not jelak at all. It is creamy, yet not a super strong durian taste. Hence, non-durian lovers will be able to enjoy this👍🏻

💰: $3.80

✨Butter Pork Ribs (奶油排骨)✨
𝐹𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑑 𝑃𝑜𝑟𝑘 𝑅𝑖𝑏𝑠 𝑠𝑝𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑘𝑙𝑒𝑑 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑀𝑖𝑙𝑘 𝑃𝑜𝑤𝑑𝑒𝑟

This is the dish they are most well-known for. The ribs were juicy and eating it with the milk powder gives a creamy taste in your mouth.

✨Honey Ribs(蜜汁排骨)✨
The honey is not too sweet and the ribs were fried well. It is quite flavourful and fragrant. Honestly, I prefer this over the butter pork ribs.

✨Laksa✨
It’s spicier than I remembered🥵 This is really still my favourite kind of laksa. Noodles are cut into short pieces so that you don’t need chopsticks to eat it. The soup also has a distinctive coconut taste and the spice does not overpower the whole bowl. Everything is just in perfect amount. They were also quite generous with the cockles (‘hum’) and peeled prawn, which were also in mini sizes! I really love how they made sure that you can fit everything into your spoon, perfect for lazy people like me🤪
