Chicken rendang turned out dry without gravy but drowning the rice in curry sauce made it shiok. Begedil was soft and comforting, fish cake added a nice bite and with sambal on the side it all came together into a hearty and satisfying plate.
One of my favourite weekday lunch spots in Tai Seng. Affordable nasi padang with plenty of choices. Meats go for $1.50–$4 while veggies and sides are just $1–$2.
They’ve got rotating specials too. ayam penyet on Mon, Tue & Thu and nasi briyani on Wed & Fri. Since they only open on weekdays, it’s basically a reliable go‑to for a satisfying lunch around the area 》$5
Fluffy basmati rice perfumed with cloves, cinnamon and saffron, paired with tender chicken and a rich curry that ties it all together. Each bite is layered. It’s fragrant, savoury and comforting without being too heavy 》$7
Only one item on the menu here — green chilli chicken rice — and that’s all they need. The chicken thigh is tender with a bit of crisp on the outside, served over fluffy basmati rice and topped with a zesty green chilli sauce that’s more tangy than spicy. Topped with crunchy keropok on the side and I’ve got a tasty, comforting and no-frills meal 》$6
Come by Al Mahboob if you need to get your Indian rojak cravings fixed. Despite visiting during odd hours, it was a long wait due to takeaways. They offer a wide variety of ingredients and they refry them all before serving. The best thing to come for is their sweet and savoury peanut sauce made from more than 10 ingredients. The rich and thick peanut sauce is flavourful with hints of spiciness. Be prepared to brave the long wait during peak hours and I would definitely not advise coming with a hungry stomach 》$10.40
This bowl of mee siam is too sweet for my taste buds. I prefer my mee siam to have a balance of sweet and sour. Available only on weekends. Heard that their nasi padang and chilli is good though 》$3 + $0.80 Begedil

The murtabak here has the right thickness. People might find their murtabak a little thin as compared to elsewhere but I prefer it to be thin so I get to taste more of the chicken and lesser chewing session on my jaws 》$8/Medium

I'm constantly back here for Indian rojak coz of their gravy. Not the best Indian rojak gravy but it's better than Jalan Kayu and definitely satisfied my cravings. They are open 24 hrs so it's a good place for supper too! 》$8

A very filling portion for the price paid 》$3.50
A mountain full of rice! The curry gravy is quite nice, not too spicy. The given amount of meat was considered quite big too.
The only thing I dislike is the environment. We were sitting outdoors and there so many house flies flying everywhere 😒
Maggie Goreng on the other hand tasted quite ordinary 》$4

I'm in a relationship with food. Why can't we just declare our never ending love and vows towards some food item? I'm sure that would not result in divorces.
