Prawn basil pesto pasta ($25)
Pesto sauce is thick and rich in flavour, and the crushed pine nuts give it a very subtle crunch and nutty flavour. Generous with their chunks of grilled prawns too.
Can’t go wrong with this if you’re in the mood for pesto pasta.
Oven baked eggs ($19)
Finally got to try something from their brunch menu, which is only available on weekends and public holidays.
Below the cheesy surface is minced meat in tomato sauce baked with 2 or 3 eggs. This was seasoned with a lot cumin powder which was too overpowering. Eggs were overcooked with the yolk too dry. Bread was too hard as well.
Would not recommend this!
Crab meat pasta with white wine sauce ($27)
Generous with their chunks of crab meat, the soupy sauce was similar to that of vongole pasta - fragrant, lots of garlic, and not too alcohol-y. Entire bowl was finished clean with not a drop of sauce left
Iced chai latte ($7)
Diluted and could be sweeter
Creamy chicken scrambled egg crossaint:
Eggs were warm and fluffy and flavourful! The cream sauce with mushrooms and chicken were tasty too but could have been more generous with the serving. Crossaint was buttery and crispy and stayed crispy throughout the meal! Overall am satisfied with this dish
Ikura kombu capellini:
Looked really appetising and packs a punch in flavour.
All the elements come together to create an umami explosion! It is pleasantly spicy but does get a little too salty halfway through the meal so I’d recommend it for sharing
An Asian twist of the classic Eggs Benedict, it comes with poached eggs, hollandaise sauce, fried spicy cauliflower, guacamole, and feta cheese, served on a bed of naan bread. The eggs were done well with a runny yolk, guacamole was creamy, and cauliflower was nicely battered and fried well. However, the cauliflower could have used a tad more seasoning. Although individually all the elements were decent, I personally did not think they work well together as a dish. The runny yolk was soaked up by the naan bread and fried cauliflower, making them soggy and cold towards the end, which I did not finish eating.
Would not order this again but it had enough potential for me to want to try something else from the menu on a next visit. The nice cafe environment also contributes.
As for the mushroom soup; perfectly creamy texture with the right amount of mushroom chunks. Flavourful and truffle oil is just right, not overpowering.
