Sweets For The Sweets
Lured here by other reviews and hyped but was plain disappointed. Im a huge matcha fan and matcha lava never failed to brighten my day except for this one. Bread lacked of the lightness or chewiness or freshness synonymous to good Japanese confectioner. Instead the whole thing tasted mediocre and a tad stale. As we were quite excited to explore this place, we ordered a few items including the tomato soup n rusks. Rusks was too hard and flat-tasted. Tomato soup was comforting. Mint tea was too watered down for its price. Kaya toast was flat sweet. A conducive place if you want somewhere really quiet to do work but that’s about it. A total miss.
Read some bad reviews but could not fathom why as the chocolate w hazelnut (pardon me -can’t recall the exact name) and the pistachio tasted just like the gelato I had at my favorite gelato shop in Rome. Second time having this combo and still tasted bliss. These are good quality flavoursome stuff with chocolate bit, and pistachio bits, rich yet not cloying. My friend’s girls were fighting for mine as their strawberry sorbet tasted a tad too light and in my humble opinion is a total miss. Vanilla gelato was good too and traces of vanilla pods are visible.
