This dessert was a sweet surprise as I initially went there purely for the beer (love their tap IPA)! Upon cutting, the liquid chocolate just flows out beautifully. Cake is crispy toasted on the outside and moist on the inside. Chocolate is rich with the right sweetness. The brandied cherries and creme fraiche perfectly elevate the dessert.
Spiced Rum Lava Cake ($13)

Absolute sucker for basque cheesecake that are toasted on the surface with gooey cheese filling flowing out. Have been sourcing for alternatives of Oliviaβs. This piece meets the expectations of gooey-ness but the filling does taste a lot more yoghurt-ish than cheesy. I do like how the cheesecake on the outside is soft and moist. Sadly their Hojicha flavour is OOS. Will probably come back to try and share my verdict!
Cream Puff ($7.50)

Chanced upon this cafe along Tras Street and decided to hit it up. The cream puff has a perfected choux; crispy on the outside and moistly airy on the inside, that well embraced the rich smooth milk cream inside. Itβs larger than a palm size and totally fill me up like a meal at such affordable price!
Totally coming back for the cream puff and try the other dishes Baristart offers but not the iced latte - unimpressive.
