We had bookmarked a "JM noodle" place after our phra nakhon khiri historical park visit. But since we were too early to catch our 2.30pm Maeklong railway train, we decided to walk down the stretch of the roads below the cable car to while away some time. And guess what, at the other end of the carpark, we noticed this JM logo sign! (Yes, luckily I googled photo for JM noodle before our visit and thus recognised their brand logo!) Turns out it was not JM noodle (which was a few minutes drive further away) but JM cuisine, selling similar food! Was eyeing this lava spicy soup with yellow egg noodle (100 baht), which came with meatballs, squids and the raw egg yolk! I was so glad they could entertain my special request of no beansprouts and veg. It came with three HUGE prawns as well! 😆 Dinner at this old school restaurant! Steamboat soup in a claypot bowl! This Suki soup was the sweetest soup I have ever tasted! We got the seafood set and the portions were generous! Came with fish, squid, prawn, veg and egg! The fried chicken wing also has the crispiest skin I ever had! It was also fascinating that they had 3 different chilli sauces for the 3 diff dishes we had. Had the French toast (180++ baht), hot chocolate (90++ baht) and American breakfast which comes with a choice of drink (275++ baht). The French toast came in a unique circular shape! So unlike the squarish kind that we are used to! (Btw, we found out after that there is also an air space outlet in central world Bangkok! hehe this was no exception, though it was an unplanned one (since we made an impromptu visit to the shopping malls) Ordered all our favourites again like the spinach noodle, original roasted duck and thin pork slices! Plus the special MK chilli sauce! All in for two pax at 639 baht. I must say it is one of the more expensive meals we had, but we like it! (And MK restaurant has closed down in Singapore! Haha although we have never ever dined in the MK franchise in Singapore. Because it was more expensive. Franchises should be brought into Singapore with maybe just a slight surcharge. I kept reading it as moomin POOP for some reason 😅 had the honey lemon green tea pop (115 baht) which came with the popping balls! The pops were actually just a thin layer of gel which pops into syrup before it gets sucked up the straws, no jelly-like chewiness! They serve Thai and Jap food at this shop! (There is also another Thai boat noodle place, fried western food stall, apart from the dessert places available here). The food was pretty decent to me! 100 baht for the oyako don, 95 baht for the Phad Thai.
If you are driving down from BKK airport, my suggestion will be to have an earlier stop for food. I was feeling so terrible on the first day due to lack of sleep + hungry + super long car ride 😐 felt like I could collapse anywhere and feeling faint and dizzy whenever I went to the toilet haha
