Managed to eat the Red Bean Pancake ($1.20 each) from Tanglin Halt Market Stall 16.
The dough was soft and tasted like Michu, and the Red Bean filling was had the right level of sweetness! The ratio of dough to filling was also just right.
Overall, a really value for money snack that can be eaten at all times of the day!
Walked past this restaurant a number of times when it first opened and was always tempted to try.
Finally went down one day and ordered the braised fish maw and seafood kway teow with chicken cutlet ($9.50, U.P. $11.50).
Other than fish maw and chicken cutlet, it was also served with broccoli, cauliflower, mushrooms, prawns (4 of them!!) and sliced fish. The portion was generous and the gravy was delicious. The kway Teow was well cooked and not overly soft. The chicken was served hot and crispy, but yet not dry. Great comfort food on a cold rainy day.
Went for lunch at dumpling darlings one day and got the set lunch ($16) which came with a choice of noodles, 5 dumplings and a drink.
Picked the braised pork noodles and it tasted a bit like Bak Chor Mee. The texture of the noodles was a perfect qq but the flavours were ordinary.
Managed to try both their original dumplings and smoked duck dumplings and the smoked duck dumplings were clearly superior.
We then ordered their desert dumplings ($8 for 5), which were fried dumplings filled with cream cheese, poached pear, amaretto and vanilla bean served with honey ice cream. This was incredible and the combination of textures was fab.
I will be back for dumplings!!
