There’s something magical about coming in to this place on a cold day to a steaming bowl of Hall-of-Fame recipe - generous loads of juicy meaty clams, distinctively flavored with onions, potatoes, cream, and a secret blend of herbs and spices.

With several ways to chowder up, prices range from $8.90 to $16.90 (with other soup selections like Smoked Salmon Chowder & Seafood Bisque). While the bread bowl may be a little tough for people with braces like me but man, the velvety clam stock was definitely a heart and stomach warmer when it’s served like this. Personally, I do expect my chowder to have chunkier potatoes but other than that, I love that this has the right level of viscousity – just enough creaminess to coat the back of a spoon 😽

This goodness of flavours from the sea was also voted “Nation’s Best” at Rhode Island’s Great Chowder Cook-Off for 3 consecutive years – a true award-winning chowder fresh from Seattle.

Located just 15 minutes walk away from Dhoby Ghaut MRT (across the road straight behind Park Mall), this single trip invoked much nostalgia like returning to a love affair on a cruise vacation.

It comes with 3 types of kushi katsu that were crisp on the outside, tender/crunchy on the inside - baby tomato, Brussel sprout & Hokkaido scallop, a bowl of chawanmushi which was executed pretty well - soft and eggy, pickles, soup and vanilla ice cream!

For something a little heavier, the Salmon Mi-cuit is a good choice to tickle your tastebuds with a little heat. By delicately curing the fish to achieve its maximum flavour, the tender slices paired perfectly with the spice-rich Butternut Curry. Not forgetting the spoonfuls of ikura that offers little pop of saltiness to cut through the richness. And loving the various textures on the plate.

Had mutton roganjosh ($12), butter chicken($11.50), garlic & butter naan($7). So good, so amazing. But, i rather get the butter chicken instead of mutton roganjosh! Its so creamy and the naan is really fragrant. Its just opposite Mustafa, and its air conditioned and do note theres GST & Service charge too. This meal cost around $35. Would come back for my naan and butter chicken cravings!!

Excellent dish!!! The seasoning was perfect and each element was cooked to perfection. The salmon skin was crispy and the flesh still juicy and flakes easily. The gravy had a balanced tartness to creaminess and the baby spinach was tender. My favourite was the buttered rice which just made me going for more.

Must try!!! (preferred this to the duck confit though the duck was nice too)

The 48hr Angus short ribs was also a star in the dish.
Comparatively, the Wagyu black pepper bowl didn’t taste as “premium” in the beef cuts or rice. Nonetheless, the dish had a good balance from its red ginger foam that lifted it with some refreshing taste.
Both were distinct in their own ways though we preferred the former for its smoky touch.

Duck Breast ($33)

This was the clear winner of the evening. Everyone gasped in awe after a slice of this! The distinct taste of foie gras was evident in the duck breast and I suspect it was probably because the chef used Magret Duck to create this beautifully plated dish. The chestnut mash, sauteed mushrooms and porcini cream only served to enhance the duck meat with umaminess. I’m really craving another round of this now!

The weather may be gloomy but there's nothing a nicely fried fish & chips can't fixed!The classic Fish & Chips ($20) has 3 crunchy battered yet moist snapper fillets and spiced fries, it was not out of the world amazing but it was substantially tasty. 😋

Comes with Rice Patty that's seared till crispy on top, Shallots, Quail Eggs & Shibazuke Pickles; this is a GEM! Also of note worthy is the cheekily named One Night in Tom Yum ($20) comprising of Cold Japanese Inaniwa Udon, Crab Meat & the Cold Tom Yum Consommé served in a separate glass bottle like vessel; truly innovative.

PS: Get here by walking through @therefinerysg & ask nicely to be taken to the Little Bastard; a cupboard will be pushed open to reveal a spiral staircase leading you to this mod-sin restaurant/bar that's also a cocktail heaven complete with mahjong tables for dining & local inspired cocktails! Not Your Average Chendol ($22) & ChengTng Gao ($18)?!? Yasss... Oh did I mention their menu comes looking like a pugilist secret manual!?!

Telok Ayer's popular smokehouse Meatsmith has ventured into Little India with its second outlet, and head chef Andrew Baldus presents a menu of American barbecue accented with Indian spices, rubs and sauces. In short, expect seriously delicious American-Indian fusion food. Take Burppler Veronica Phua's cue and start with the Picklebacks ($5), which sees India's Amrut single malt whisky chased down with housemade jalapeno pickle juice, and then work your way through stellar snacks like Pulled Pork Samosas, Currywurst Sausages and Butter Chicken Hot Pockets ($7-$8 each). That should prime you well for their Stuffed Suckling Pig ($48), stuffed with a nasi biryani stuffing that mixes together lots of dried fruit and nuts to elevate the sweetness of the pork, as well as their flawless Tandoori Chicken ($18), which will impress with its flavourful marinade and incredibly moist meat. Pair the meats with an order of Gunpowder Potatoes ($6), where spot-on seasoning, crisp edges and curry leaves come together in addictive harmony. Wash everything down with tall glasses of Nimbu Pani ($4, free flow), a cumin-kissed Indian lemonade that's super refreshing and palate-cleansing.
