Cafe & Coffee
On Mondays, take your children out for a late lunch or early dinner at this laidback cafe. Not only do kids eat for free with every main meal ordered, they can also play in the bouncy castle on the lawn (from 3pm) and get creative at the art and craft corner (5 to 8pm). Children under two can enjoy choices like Congee and Mini Blueberry Pancakes ($6 each), while those three and above can go for the set meal ($16), with main choices like chicken schnitzel and strawberry pancakes. Parents, take your pick from hearty dishes like Chicken Parmigiana ($22) and Trio of Pork Ragout Pasta ($25).
Avg price: $17 per person
A good friend recommended the cheese and egg melt and I am glad we ordered it. Oozy, fluffy scrambled eggs with cheese and an additional side order of house made bacon all nicely tucked between their fluffy brioche bun, this was truly delicious and calorie worthy.
❤️ Still one of my favourite little hideouts around the neighborhood.
Beautiful, minimalistic, and ever so serene 😍 Time flies, The Tastemaker Store has been open for three years now, and every bit as charming as day one. Just saw that they will be closed for renovations from 29 May till 11 June, really hope they won't turn into a commercialised, hipster cafe 😝 Please stay quaint and special 💕
Nothing is more comforting and end a meal like how a fudgy sticky chocolate cake does it. Ps cafe's chocolate cake is one of the must orders when I'm here
An uncanny resemblance to the traditional breakfast that we locals always have at Ya Kun or Hawker centers, with a slight modification and upgrade of the usual kaya/butter toast to a savoury kimchi cheese toast. Despite the simplicity of this dish, I really enjoyed the thick, gooey melted mozzarella and cheddar that's springy with an oozy factor! 💖 Along with tender, juicy streaks of smoky bacon and the tanginess of fermented pickled vegetables (kimchi) that came with a tinge of lingering spiciness, the Danish loaf was toasted to perfection, with crisp edges and a soft, fluffy interior. The onsen eggs were perfectly moulded to two blobs of wobbly spheres that came with an ideal runny factor, nestled comfortably in a pool of soy sauce .

Across my office, Kyushu Pancakes is known for healthier pancakes made with a proprietary flour base (think 7 different grains) and is devoid of any additives and mystery ingredients.
Irony aside, the eggs benedict served with pancakes was pretty good. Granted, you get slightly grittier pancakes due to the grain content but the hollandaise sauce was so goooood. The eggs were a bit small but still gave an ample amount of #yolkporn.

At $9.50 during lunch, its more than worthwhile.
Their seasonal flavours constantly changing is a great concept. We had the durian and mooncake soft serve and both satisfied the sweet tooth perfectly. The mochi doughnut was chewy and complimented the ice cream perfectly. $15 was a bit on the pricey side, but it is good to share among 3 pax. Where cheese cake is concerned the strong influence of Japanese Patisserie is obvious in recent years with the cheese cakes textures turning more refined, silky smooth, lighter (what irony, regardless it's still a slab of cheese & cream) almost too posh to be nice. I love my cheese cake New York style, with greater density, richer and even if it's slightly rougher on the edge, so what? That's what true cheese cake is about. The rendition at Birds comes with a generous coat of salted caramel which goes so well with the savoriness of the cheese cake. Perfect way to bring all the Mala heatiness around its dishes to a great finale!
From The Glasshouse, currently in soft launch mode situated opposite Whitegrass at CHIJMES — it takes a previously vacant spot at the plaza and the unit is a free-form structure built with frames and boards. The space is minimalist, filled with natural elements such as wood furnishings and lots of plants with loads of natural lighting — everything that would make it an Instagrammer enclave. Currently only serving cakes, pastries and coffee, they would be serving aristanal toasts once they go into full operation.
The Banana Cake is pretty moist with fresh cream cheese frosting piped above. The cake itself was not overly sweet yet perfumes of banana flavour while the cream cheese frosting cuts through the sweetness with its subtle tartness to provide another dimension of flavour. Pretty decent.
